E3 love

Microsoft is kind of disappointing. The only information that was worth while was the new 360.

Anyone have a link to a livestream or any online sites that stream this expo.

Sadly my Familys Direct TV does not have the G4 Tech channel. :C
Anyone that can help please PM me your links. :3

I've been waiting for SWTOR for the past year. Literally. A year. They announced it last E3. And its still not slated for release until next year.

</mad>

Sony just finished off its' conference. All I can say is holy crap. PS Move, Sorcery, LBP2 and Twisted Metal here I come. Oh and Dead Space 2. Good god how much money I'm gonna lose.

Hmm, ive only seen some game trailers, it would be good to watch the whole show though. I wonder if youtube will have it.

Wow...this E3 is pretty damn disappointing so far. There is nothing groundbreaking going on here, sure there is motion controls and 3D gaming...but it's all just so underwhelming. Most of the games being shown here look just like the same games that we have been playing for the last 3 years.

Where is the freaking innovation...especially in the shooter genre. Another Halo, another Killzone, another Call of Duty, more Medal of Honor, another Gears of War...hey look, Crysis again. Seriously where are the original IPs at? There is Bulletstorm, I Am Alive, Devil's Third...and that's just about it.

Nintendo releasing a new handheld...what a novel idea. I mean it's not like they've released 6 in the last decade...oh, wait...they have.

I guess there is nothing exciting happening in the industry during the next year.

Compared to the past 2 or 3 years, this E3's seriously good stuff. Granted, Nintendo seems to be having the best show so far, and I'm really looking forward to their releases. But it's good stuff as a whole.

Compared to the past 2 years, with absolutely nothing I gave a crap about, this is a welcome change of pace.

Amen.
I laughed out loud for like 10 minutes when Sony brought on Kevin Butler and spilled my beer when GlaDOS started talking. Good times.

Man the money I'm gonna need :/ ;

Agreed, compared to the last two year...this is a good E3. But when taking stock of the industry and the games that are coming out of this E3, it's really underwhelming. As I said before, there isn't any innovation going on here.

I mean if you look at Stormriders list of game, you have 4 from established franchises, one Serious Sam game, one MMO...that looks like every other MMO, and a WII controller. What the hell? There is nothing new in that list. One of the games getting the biggest play is Medal of Honor, which is a amalgamation of CoD: MW and Battlefield: BC...that isn't something to get hyped about. It's a game that brings nothing new to the table and looks like ever other FPS that takes place in the Modern era that was released in the last 3 years.

I guess my main problem is that no one is taking chances at this E3. Everyone is playing safe and because of that it's really disappointing.

Have to agree with you. Maybe because of all the studio closures / lay-offs in the industry, no one wants to take chances right now.

Only *new* IP's that caught my interest were Child of Eden, Enslaved, Homefront, and Brink.

In the interest of full disclosure, I must admit: Many of the sequels shown at E3 made me feel tingly, like when starfish cuddle my nose

I can definitely agree with you there. While I'm looking forward to several games announced at this E3, a drastic change of the past 2 years, it's mostly for nostalgic reasons.

It seems like, in recent years, the gaming industry just doesn't care about innovation. Similar to the movie industry. It's no longer about creative and meaningful stories, or bringing something new to the world - allowing us to see or interact with things on a completely different level, it's about putting out whatever "brand" is going to make you the most money. Sure the 3DS is going to be neat, but Nintendo's got a very specific fanbase.

I was really hoping for an announcement of the next TES game - each one being built on an entirely new engine, and largely more expansive than its predecessor. Or maybe even some new platformer games that don't rehash the same old characters.

I'll always be a gamer, and I like this E3 in comparison to the recent past examples, but there's a reason why I used to want to work in the video game industry - but that this is no longer the case.
