So I'm about ready to order my computer, but I'm looking for some feedback/suggestions on my build.

CPU: Intel? Core™ i7-930 2.80 GHz 8M Intel Smart Cache LGA1366

Motherboard: Asus P6T SE Intel X58 Chipset CrossFireX Mainboard Triple-Channel DDR3/1600 SATA RAID w/ eSATA,GbLAN,USB2.0,IEEE1394a,&7.1Audio

Graphics Card: (2x Crossfire) ATI Radeon HD 5770 1GB GDDR5 16X PCIe Video Card

Memory: 6GB (2GBx3) DDR3/1600MHz Triple Channel Memory Module (A-Data Gaming Series with Heat Spreader)

looks great. Just out of curiosity, what are your case options, and who did you decide to finally buy from?

I recommend antec 900 cases, however if you have the money go for the antec 1200
 
Never heard of that PSU, and anything with extreme in the name is usually crap. If i could get a link, I could give you more informed info.

For the case, I would get the:

or
CM690IIA

the HAF series is ok, but they are ugly as a butt. (<-- opinion, some ppl like them)
 
hmm the scout i like. What i don't like about the HAF is the interior is not black. I could paint it, but it will be a pain to disassemble. As for the antec 900 case, it looks nice and all however it doesnt surpass the HAF's cable management system.

its clocked at 2000mhz, you will get improved speed out of you system, and you be able to OC your CPU alot higher

$30 more and you get USB 3.0, and Sata 6gb/s (more Future proof)

for the HDD I would get this 6GB/s HDD, considering you get the motherboard I suggested.

I would prolly shoot for a 750-800 Watt PSU if you want to OC. I would suggest either Corsair or Silverstone for the Powersupply, also be sure to get one with a single 12V rail.

For the CPU I would get the Intel Core i7 920, you save $10 and you can still OC to about 4.0 on water (Corsair H50) and you could get a good 3.5-3.8ghz on air (Xigmatek Dark Knight)

I like the GPU's, Those 5770's are going to run extremely well on this system.

For you Computer Case I would recommend a Full Tower Chassis to get proper air cooling, also pick a case with dust filters.
I can recommend the CM ATCS 840, the Antec 1200, CM Cosmos S.
or if you are looking for portability and not so much extreme cooling, or cable management, you can get the NZXT Tempest (Great case, I love mine) The CM Storm Scout, the Antec 900, or any Lian LI case (if you have the money)

These are just my suggestions, but the setup you have right now will be one Kick-@$$ rig.

The Antec 900 does not have a black interior. The Antec 902 does.

I've got myself an Antec 900 and to be honest, it's overrated. I built my dad a computer not too long ago using a HAF 932, and boy, I was kicking myself for not getting one of these cases myself.

However, if you do have the money, the case I would get above all would definitely be the Corsair Obsidian 800D. It has the nice black interior finish and looks simply amazing.
 
1. Excellent CPU choice, the i7 never fails. One user said 4.0 on water and 3.5-3.8 on air, these things easily do 4ghz on air- almost any decent cooler will do so. 4.2 is not uncommon.

2. Cant go wrong the ASUS P6T , very good track record. Im pretty used to Gigabyte X58 boards so dont ask for help unless :-)

3. 2 x 5770's will do great. if you dont mind Nvidia's heat output and power consumption, look into the 470 . I've been hearing things about CF stuttering alot lately... Even go with a 5870, same SP count as your 2 x 5770's .

4. I would find another set of RAM, the set your looking is rated at 1600 mhz @ 9 9 9 24 which might not leave much room for overclocking. Yes they are cheap, but there is plenty of kits available for a few bucks more with tighter timings, leaving room to OC- look for 8 8 8 24 for example.

5. Is the HDD Western Digital ? If not i would recommend them, cant say much about the other guys, never used anything else. Otherwise i would say get an SSD even though that always gets shot down.

6. DO NOT BE CHEAP ON THE PSU ! ! ! You will regret it if you do... Corsair all the way, pull up PSU's on Newegg and arrange them in order with the best rating and see what shows up...

7. Case- i do love the Storm Scout and Storm Sniper as well as the HAF series . Antec 900 or 902 will do the trick , i have a 300 for work and love the fan filters/fan setup.
 
I'm running a NZXT Tempest (the original) at home, I've had it for a year now (exactly a year, I believe) and it's still running superbly. I would recommend it 10 times over compared to an Antec 900.

I've got an Antec 900 at work, and it's three times as loud as my Tempest (which I can't even hardly tell is on), gets dustier quicker, and doesn't quite feel as "polished" in a lot of different ways. Plus, everyone and their mother has an Antec 900. Who wants that, really?

I'm really happy with my NZXT Tempest. On arrival one of the front fans was dead (I blame it's being handled like crap during shipping, not NZXT, box was kinda banged up). NZXT send me out a new one free of charge in 2 days (including front attachment and new filter). At one point one of the top 140mm fans was making a slight "clicking" noise, I emailed in and they sent me out a brand new one of those, too, didn't even ask to see a receipt. I found out a couple days later that the clicking was because one of my stray hairs (this happens when your hair's down to your backside) was caught in the fan. Took it out, everything's been running great ever since with no a sign of stopping. Still looks and runs like new.

I suggest more than 1 HDD - it is best to put OS, security and drivers on a seperate HDD just incase of corruption or failure... I run 3 HDDs - 1 80gb is OS, security and drivers, and it has 58gb of free space.

as for the suggestion of cooling the CPU with an H50 - Noctua coolers are much better at air cooling than the self-contained H50 water cooler - some have shown close to a 20 degree difference between the 2 products... Noctua > H50

I was just suggesting that if he wanted to do a high OC, you should be safe rather than sorry, I just play it cool like that. but yes you can hit 4.0 and up on air, I just wouldn't recommend it. :P

I have a NZXT Tempest Crafted case full tower as well. Aside from the top cage (covers the top 2 case fans and inputs on top of case) coming broke, the case has tons of fans and pushes air very very well. I like the case a lot, except the shipping defect.
