custom skins?

There was question the other day if custom skins in tf2 servers (maybe all ego servers) aren't allowed on ego servers? is that treu...i didn't think it was considering most of the people that post vids of there playing on here have custom skins and i have well only one custom animation for the spy knife and it has never blocked me from joining

I believe custom skins ARE allowed in all eGO servers.

Yea eGO servers do not enforce sv_pure yet. They were thinking about it a while back I think and tested it on a couple of servers but i havent heard anything else about it. I personally hope they dont enforce file consistency for one reason, Im on a laptop, it doesnt meet minimum requirements, and one reason im still able to play TF2 with 60+ fps is because of skins. I have 3 skin packs that take the shine off of Buildings, players, and weapons. Thus decreasing the amount of work my computer has to do while keeping the game appealing enough to look at and its still playable. To be honest, if eGO starts enforcing it and the CS:S Beta goes public as the full update. Im going back to CS:S. I came to TF2 because I found a way to keep the fps from dipping too much on my laptop. Ive always liked TF2 just hated having my FPS drop at critical times. No Skins = Me gone to CS:S. Skins= everyone is happy with what they have and no one gets upset over anything.

There's a notable exception here: last year, the summer league tournament set it's servers to sv_pure. thus, you couldn't have any custom skins. I don't use any, so I didn't pay attention to that rule in this years', but there's a good chance that if you're in the tournament, you won't be using skins.

Ah that makes sense, doing it for tournaments is a whole different story, thats when you get into people using skins to exploit and cheat aspects of the game. But im talking general server play here.

Well, as on frag videos of eGO members I saw couple people using skins from e to eGO

we use sv_pure 1, but not sv_pure 2, so yes, custom weapon skins are allowed.

lol alright i was just just making sure o.o i tried to get skins before but none of them worked but like 2 and i had to reinstall tf2 so i didn have them anymore and my only custom thing is a spy knife animation
