New Graphics, No Sound.

Short version, you need to reinstall sound drivers for your sound card. Something happened to remove them, and as a result of not having any drivers, your system isn't detecting a sound card at all. Resulting in no playback, or...really, anything involving sound. (You can see this for yourself in the "Notes" section" for your Sound device in the Dxdiag).

If you know what type of soundcard you have, hit up their website and get those drivers. You can TRY the window's updates, but usually window driver checks BLOW and aren't going to do you a whole lot of good.

If you don't know what type of sound card you have, hmm...

Might be a...Realtek AC97? Based on the computer model.

Typically just run a search for specifications for your computer model. Based on the quick searches I could find myself (I'm at work), looks like you're looking for something along the lines of:

Go ahead and try downloading for your appropriate OS. Worst case scenario it tells you they're the wrong ones.

Edit:

You can also try...

Selecting "Driver - Audio" or finding the audio package under "Original Drivers" might help you out as well.

Still no luck. theres a box always poping up saying Found new hardware. and the software is Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus and im trying to install it but it says i need a cd or floppy disk. and it tells me to either "Install the software automatically (Recommended)" or "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced).

I had problems with my sound when installing my new motherboard back in. I had to switch from HDAudio to AC97 in my BIOS. Whats it look like in your BIOS for your sound?

BIOS is the place where you edit the settings for your motherboard and everything connected to it. Usually reached by spam pressin "delete" once you start your PC (Long time before windows loads).

But since you seem to have a OEM computer, I honestly got no idea what to look for since I don't know what settings you can change in the BIOS, or how the BIOS menu looks like.

If you want to edit anything there, I suggest getting a friend or family member who knows that kind of stuff to help you, or you could do some research before you enter to avoid changing anything bad.

My dads friend fixes computers and hes gonna help me, so ill wait and see if he can figure it out.

you are correct. Lately I have noticed that some of the nvidia video drivers are bundled with both ethernet and hd audio drivers. If this is the case, you most likely corrupted your audio driver by installing the nvidia driver package right on top of them.

You need to find audio drivers for your audio card. If it is integrated, look for drivers on your motherboard's website.

If you still have no luck, do a system restore to before you updated the video card. Then download ONLY the display drivers, nothing else.

There are a few things to note here.

If you have a sound card, then you need to go to the sound card manufacturers website and download the driver for your card. (preferably the latest one.) To find the cards model number, simply look at the card in your computer.

If you do not have a sound card, then you need to go to your Motherboard manufacturers website, and type in the model number for your board. Once there click on the support, or downloads button and download the audio drivers.

Did you connect your video card through HDMI? And if so, did you connect the spdif connection? (Though I am not sure if the low end 220 has spdif on it...)

I did not connect the card through HDMI.

Check in the bios, or open up the side and look on the board itself. It should say whatever kind it is.
