Just a quick question, i'm looking into installing Ubuntu on my school laptop.
V?sta seems so slooooow to start, so i figured to install Ubuntu, but here's my questions:
Can i open word files in Ubuntu's native word processing program?
Can i use my Hp printer with Ubuntu?

As for word processing, I do believe Ubuntu comes with Open Office already installed. As for your HP printer, I would think so considering Linux is becoming more and more popular. Also, Ubuntu forums are very very helpful so I am sure you can fine the answer in there.

Ubuntu comes with Openoffice.org, which opens word documents. Your printer may be compatible, or you might need to get drivers

I got a laptop which is an Vaio VGN-CS21S, if i install Ubuntu on it, and completely remove vista, can i ever go back to Vista without having a backup cd? is there anything in the computer i can use to go back if i regret?

You can use something like Acronis, which makes an image of your hard drive which you can keep on an external drive, to have a backup of your system. That way if you want to go back, you can insert its dvd and plug in your external hard drive, wait a bit and have your system back the way it was.

Ubuntu comes with OpenOffice, which can open Word documents. Most printers work fine with it, you may have to find some drivers for it though.
