Microphone port on soundcard not working?

I all of a sudden cant use the mike port on my soundcard cause it does not pick up the sound from my microphone. I tried on a 2nd computer I have and the mike worked fine.
Wondering if theres any way to fix this other than buying a new soundcard(Current soundcard is intergrated into my mobo)

There's alot of things to do.

First of all, have you tried installing/re-installing your soundcard driver?

If your mic works on a second computer, your mic works.

Elimination time.

Drivers - You said you reinstalled, but did you update your drivers? If possible, that is.
Off/on board - The hardware in question, is it onboard or offboard? Meaning, did you buy your sound card additionally or did it come with the computer, attached?

It came with the PC.. Integrated with mobo Im thinking its my mic port not working but :confused1:

Since your mic doesn't work on your computer but works on another, I'll suggest the hinted: Your mic port blew.

Do you have another one on your PC you can try out?
Like, my tower has 2 mic ports. 1 in the back and 1 in the front.

If not, see if you can buy an offboard one. You'll notice the quality increase form on to off.

yes, i tried it on both mic ports front and back and I recieved the same problem. Right now I think my only option is to buy an external soundcard or a new soundcard
