I am going to be buying a new computer within the next 2-4 months, and I was wondering what the best stuff I can get for under 2000$ Canadian (all parts). I do not want any liquid cooling because its expensive. This topic is about what I should buy, nothing else. So if I could get some help with this I would greatly appreciate it. :)

EDIT: If you ladies and gents could post some Links to sites that would be great or just the part name (preferably). And yes I'm also looking myself too :P

Well, since you have 2 months to spare. Do a little research and figure out what would be best for you. You could go AMD and maybe get an additional video card.

2000...... i can only dream about it.... all i can say is that that will become a very nice computer:P

yeah i would go with AMD cheaper and i <3 it

I got a phenom ii X4 965 overclocked at 4.0ghz stable and i got for under 200 $ usa

AMD is good and all, but Intel is better.
And at a $2000 price point, he better have an i7. lol

Also, I would advise you to stay away from the G9/G9x. The rubber deteriorates quicker than it should on it.

now now guys we all know amd is beeter then intel lol we don't have to argue about this. lol

For the extra hundredish dollars, on a minor performance upgrade nah I do not think so.

Oh wow, I just actually went through the thread and saw you're getting an i5 750. Good choice. I only assumed you were going with an i7 because of the extremely high budget.

AMD is better at a price point, but Intel is better in absolute performance.
Only an ignorant person would disagree with that statement.
