Half life Crash

For some time now I've been trying to get the original half life, Blue Shift, and Opposing force to work on my computer. No luck trying to get them to start.
They all crash at the main menu, same thing with DoD 1.3, Counter Strike, Death Match Classic, and Team Fortress Classic.

There are no Fix updates on the Steam website, and no info on how to fix it on any community sites...so i thought i could come to you guys for help.

i got Death Match Classic working

You could try doing Compatibility. Make a desktop icon, right click, properties. Than go to compatibility and select something earlier than XP. That should fix it. Also, make sure you launch as Administrator.
