[edit] To get the M1 Garand, you need to go to the Bad Company 2 website and get veteran status.
BC2 is the only game I had so, I downloaded Battlefield Heroes and that allowed me to get Veteran status since it only requires you
to have two games (BC2 + Battlefield Heroes). If that doesn't work, try emailing their support staff.
