Hello,

This is one of the reasons windows is not my primary OS. Anyways I restarted my computer and when I turned it back on it went to system restore. So I did the start up repair and restored to the last restore point. I turned the computer back on and it goes to the loading bar for windows 7, moves about an inch , freezes, then shows a BSOD for a second and repeat. Anyone know what I could do to fix this? If I have to install windows again I wont bother so if that's the only solution I'm just going to erase the partition. Also I know for a fact its not a hardware issue because the computer works fine on Mac OSX. Last thing I did was uninstall itunes.

Things to note:

Windows doesn't actually start it just gets to the loading screen where "Microsoft Corporation" is shown. Then the bar goes about an inch and a BSOD comes up. All I can see is the word harddrive.

The computer immediately restarts BSOD is only there for a second.

Put in your windows 7 disc, and when it finally loads up, choose to repair the installation. It should fix it. If this does not work, you should download memtest86 (preferably v4.0 or better) and run a memtest from your startup. BSOD usually means a corrupted file, or a memory error.

I used a speed camera I have and got a picture of the BSOD

STOP: 0X0000007b (0X86786bS8,0XC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)

Would it be possible to get a few more things that came up on the bsod?

Thats all that came up besides it saying "windows has experienced an error and to restart the computer" something along those lines, I deleted the picture.

Oh. Well, those numbers reveal virtually nothing to me, and google brought up nothing :/

I literally saw hundreds of these errors while working at allied semi. Are you using a raid? 7b errors usually came from unknown drive errors. Is your drive fat32 format? Are you using an intel raid driver? Do you have a solid state in a raid? Are you using a JBOD raid with an IDE drive connected to your mobo?

your hard drive might be dead...see if you can boot up with the windows dvd, run command promp, and run check disk.

the command should be "chkdsk /f"

Not a Raid the computer has 2 1tb drives though, but they are not raided and windows only should recognize a 300gb partition of one of them anyways. Also the windows part of the drive is formatted ntfs.

Its on my Mac Pro Dual Booting with Mac OSX, and Mac works.

Thanks for trying though.

So I a probably just going to delete the partition and be done with it. With that I will no longer be running windows on anything I own.
