Tech question. Did the EGO server recently put mins on updaterate and cmdrate?

Been playing EGO server for years (great servers btw) but now I find that CL_UPDATERATE and CL_CMDRATE now have server mins and I'd swear that they didn't before (but I am getting older... my mind... )

My FPS is not the best and I used to drop the rates down so I don't get killed with choke, but now netgraph shows the CL commands don't effect the rates on any EGO servers. So I'm getting bigtime choke now.

Anyway, just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about it, or hoping it just was reset this way on some latest valve update (stealth server changes ) and it will be reset back I can drop rates again :w00t:

Are you able to manually find rates?

You mean manually set them? No. TF2 no longer responds to the CL_UPDATERATE and CL_CMDRATE console commands on EGO servers. They stick to the server defaults.

Commands themselves still work as I see they have an effect on other servers.

That might explain my increased lag recently, although recently my whole family has also been on the internet when I am so that could be it also.

iv noticed shots not registering correctly a much on ego servers latly >.> as well as random lag spikes

Other servers do have them, but didn't put those on my favs due to the fact they had mins.

Put the same question on the Tech forum, see if any admins answer it..
