Switching between audio devices

is there a way you can easily switch what audio device your pc uses. im a windows 7 laptop that obviously the main audio device is the speakers but when i plug in my USB headphone/mic it uses a separate set of drivers and the sound doesn't come through my head phones unless i disable my speakers which requires me to reinstall the drivers to make them work again i have tried everything i could think of to try and just make it switch to my headphone temporarily

right click on your sound icon in the systry and go to playback devices and right click the device you want to disable and hit disable or you could just keep everything on and jsut set a new default device.
