I recently decided to use the HDMI cable that came with my 470, and since then, it's the only source of audio that my computer can do. I tried to plug in some speakers for more bass, and they get recognized in my drivers, but they don't output sound. These speakers work, but they just don't want to work with HDMI plugged in or something. Help, please?
Thanks in advance.

try reinstalling your base sound drivers.

they were probably corrupted from your video driver update

Trying now. Will update once I get them downloaded. Which will be a while. I think I had the slowest internet in all of the Post Your Speed! threads.

Okay, well now the speakers output audio, but I don't get sound from my monitor..

You need to use that handy little S/PDIF cable that came with your video card, and plug it into your motherboards S/PDIF header. Easy cheesy.

After that, you need to set your S/PDIF to the default device,

Should look something similar to that.
