Hey guys Im planning on getting a evga Gtx 470. Tell me what you guys think of it do u like it why/or why not.

I like it because its Dx11 and performs very well with tessellation.

so what do you think ??

I think you will get flamed because of the heat/power/cost vs 5800/performance vs 5800.
But I also think you should get it, the drivers are getting better and better, making it perform better than the 5800 series.

tl;dr Final Verdict: Buy it.

But it's more than the 5800, so that means it's OVER 9000W USAGE. I know it's not that bad- I have the card myself.

Go for it. Im going for one myself soon. And yes, be prepared to get flamed.

I could post so many of these, but I doubt people will like me after that : (

Well, as long as the focus is humor, and not just flaming nVidia, I don't mind it.
I still think it's hilarious that they tried to cook an egg on a 480.
But it didn't work. It wasn't even near hot enough to actually boil the egg.

Zetas wins

Honestly, the 470 is a great card. You pay for a bit more over the 5850, but it out performs the 5870 in a few games
The real question is, what's the rest of your system? There's no point in buying a 470 when you're running a old C2D or have a computer case that won't fit the card.

Yea...the 470 is a decent card. Tessellation is great but only problem is games aren't implementing it that much for it to be a huge factor. They are only using moderate amount of tessellation unlike the heaven benchmark which uses a ton.

Either way, i'd say its a pretty good buy.

Would you care to tell us how much your gonna be paying for it??

A 5850 overclocked to 1000mhz can perform just as good as a stock 5870 or even better if overclocked a tiny bit more. I heard it was pretty easily done with just some volt tweaks using software.

But i would go with the GTX 470 if your only paying like $20 more than a 5850. The performance is there, its mostly in between a 5850 and 5870 but as said, it can beat a 5870 in a few games.

Hey, all that shows is the GPU's true power and what its really capable of. Awesome.

I was litteraly rolling on my floor, laughin half my face and both my buttcheeks off when I read that rewiev.

After nearly 45 minutes of running benchmarks and playing some games the egg white was turning white, but it was no where near cooked. Oh well, we tried! We had the fan on auto the entire time, so if you turned the fan down lower you might have some better luck.

Haha, true that!
