How and (when ) so you celebrate Christmas?

I saw this at another site and thought it was interesting.

In Hawaii, we celebrate Christmas (Kalikimaka) same as all the other 49 states with the exception of food. We buy our real tree or fake tree 2-3 weeks before Christmas and set it up. Santa Claus paddles his canoe into Waikiki Beach and all the kids jump and scream. They have a snow machine blow snow on the beach for the kids. We all pray for overcast and 65 degree weather Farenheit.

We wish everyone a Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas). We have a family Christmas Party at one of the uncles house (6 uncles, 2 aunts= lots of cousins). One of the Uncles dresses up as a Saint Nicholas and the parents bring a present for their kids (keiki). Then Santa pulls them out one by one. The younger cousins put on a play of the birth of Jesus, I was the STAR (held it up), the Sheep and Wise man (when I was older). We (my whole family) go to church ( the church is associated to the Catholic school we all attended including my Uncles and Aunts) on Christmas Eve.

Everyone stays at their house on Christmas Day. We wake up have eggs, Portuguese sausage and rice. Then we check the surf report and go to the beach till dinner. Mom cooks a pig in the oven (kalua pig) and Lomi Lomi Salmon, rice, chicken long rice, raw ahi (tuna), Kal Bi (korean ribs). We eat around 5pm and hang out.

Go to my grandpa's house on Christmas Eve around noon since we don't him too much. My cousins who live close to me come a little bit after. Thousands of cousins who I don't really know at all show up around dinner time and there is little to no standing room except in the basement where I spend my time shooting pool and such. Leave around 9 to get back for midnight church service. Go to bed, tear into my presents on Christmas morning (hopefully a 360 this year!)

I'm usually not home during the weeks of Christmas. Last year, I went to Hawaii, and I'm heading off to South Korea this Saturday night. I just usually set up a 7 foot tall Christmas tree in the house and decorate it like mad.

Having a regular christmas with the family .... im originally from poland and there we have a tradition that u actually open your presents on christmas eve although you have to wait for the first star to show up in the sky the funniest thing is seeing all the little cousins running around the house to look from each window if they can see the star

Celebrate it 24th And Santa is finnish, so he quickly throws the presents there and heads to Hawaii xD

I will celebrate Christmas by my self, with people I know online, this year I will celebrate it with a Japanese girl ^^

For the rest, I eat a lot, drink some alcohol and go to bed ^^ Merry Christmas >_>

I'm going to my grans place for 3 days...from 24th till 27th...he will have x-mas on the eve of 24th..german x-mas....we will have normal dinner....some meat..potatoes....and other stuff......

That Hawaii information is pretty interesting, I recently went to Hawaii to get on a Navy ship and my stay in Hawaii was far from what I imagined. Hawaii seems to just be another American city (the distance between the beach and what seems like Boston is about 15-20 feet, just a street away).

My parents own a restaurant (dad is a gourmet chef) so for Christmas we would go to Chinese food restaurants to eat dinner instead of make my dad cook another full blown meal.

Going to be celebrating Christmas with my girlfriend this year at my apartment so I'm not really sure how we are going to do things; i figure she will probably want to go celebrate it with her parents.

Well...I guess I'll be seeing you guys/gals at Avalance or any maps, except Donner and Strand, on Christmas morning (For most of you, that would still be on Christmas Eve).

Still can't get into Strand or Donner, every time I log into the maps, it would go back to Windows with the message,"Internal Driver Error...blah blah blah".

Definitely not gonna be a silent night on Christmas Eve in my room, coz I'm gonna turn up the volume of my speaker waaay up. I just love the sound of K98 in DoD:S.
