BC2 Problem

For some reason my PC is starting to freeze up - this happened when I opened BC2 this morning. I've been playing BC2 for several weeks and never had a freeze until today.

Not long after getting into the game and I started playing the game immediately froze. Then the entire PC froze. I had a weird display issue, too. The game started showing "spots" (similar to old NES games when they would freeze). I turned my CPU heat warnings on in the BIOS but I do not get anything.

However, now when I attempt to start my PC back up, I still see the spots, and it freezes before Windows can even load.

Running:

Windows 7 64-bit (OS)
AMD 64 Dual Core 3.0GHz (Processor)
Nvidia Alpha Dog 8800GT (Video Card)
4.0GB RAM DDR2

What do you guys think?

Thanks for the help.

Try updating your drivers, i saw spots and patches when i first played it, i updated my drivers and everything was good

either your video drivers are corrupt or your GPU is going south.

like plox said, update your video drivers to the most recent (should be 257.15 for nvidia) and see what happens.

Thanks guys. I believe my card is going. After the last time it froze, I pulled it and it was very hot to the touch, abnormally so, with the case side panel off, too. I also heard it making some loud noise like the bearing was worn out.

I'm testing another card atm and will update once I see what results I get.

sounds like the electrics and/or the fan on the video card are going out. Tough...

Yeah, I've got an old 7900GT that I put in there and it's working perfectly, and nowhere near as hot. I guess it's problem solved (sort of). :(
