Becoming a Dedicated Supporter

I'm thinking of doing this. Actually, I probably am doing this.
But I think it would be better if I didn't have to sign up for a PayPal account just for that.
The things I do for eGO...

On a side note, PayPal is being frustrating. I have a bank account, but I don't have checks yet, so I can't add any money and do this. Why can't eGO just ask for credit card number then do it like that?

I have not yet looked fully into it, however I do know when you go to check-out, you can switch to use your credit card.

I don't know how this works for Subscription based payments though.

But you need information that is on your checks, which I don't have yet.

You still probably have a checking account though if you have a debit card. Your number exists somewhere else besides on checks, but it's purposely hard to find.

I was doing it mostly so I could change my user title thing, but the supporting eGO is a bonus. Plus I don't really have any money to donate. I'd feel bad for only donating $5, you know?

Supporting eGO matters. Maybe not to you, maybe not even in ways known to most people. But for many, it's more than just a place to game, it's a place to foster lifelong friendships, meet people of similar tastes and interests, and for some it even serves as a sort of second family.

There was a point in my life a couple years ago when I was in seriously bad shape. Psych ward, possibly being homeless type of shape. And while yes, now I've grown a little distant focusing more on real life matters, and while I still push for the occasional change or clarification on policy or direction, I still can't forget that a few of the friends I'd made here had actually offered to take me in to their homes, should I need it.

Sure, it's just a gaming clan. But trust me - coming from a guy who married a girl he met at the age of 13 on some Pokemon forums in spite of having to wait 6 years and close the thousand mile distance, you'll never know when something simple now might turn into something incredible later on in a lot of different ways.

I can't afford being a dedicated supporter right now. I'm actually trying to figure out ways to cut expenses in my life, as every dollar counts. But if I had the money, I'd easily toss monthly money to eGO. No need for a shirt, or a hoodie, a custom title, or an ad-free website. That stuff's the bonus.

Haha, I didn't mean anything by it. I just wanted to point out that genuinely good things can be found in a lot of different places. Even gaming clan websites.
