So, I got up this morning, saw the sale on steam, and said, I want a game. Seeing as I have no money, because my mom put all my money in my bank, and by all, I mean every cent I have. I decided to get a demo of ArmA 2, and I started at 10 AM this morning, and now it's 11 PM. The download is at 25% and going at 40 kb/s. Yesterday I was downloading Gmod because I upgraded my OS to Win7 awhile back, and never got around to downloading it again. It went about 700-800 kb/s average. Is there a reason why it's going so slow in downloading the ArmA 2 demo? And how would I fix this?

- Thanks.

The Steam servers are really busy, and are not the best when it comes to hosting millions of downloads at the same time. That's why.

Ok thanks lol, was just wondering if it had something to do specifically with me.

The servers were so busy that I tried to launch CS:S last night around 8pm central and it gave me the message "Sorry the steam servers are too busy to try and LOAD YOUR GAME SIR, PLEASE TRY AGAIN IN A FEW MIN!" Lol sorry for caps but it made it more dramatic. And it's an improper quote. But you get the point. I'd expect the steam servers to be melting by the time the end of the sale.

You might want to get Operation Flashpoint Dragon Rising. It's like $6.11 USD and is played a little more. And looks better to be honest. But that's if you can get the money from your mom XD I've only seen videos and I've seen a guy I know stream both games. He said he enjoyed OF Dragon Rising more. I believe the MAIN difference is the game engine. OFDR is prettier as ARMA II is slightly less and a wee more realistic on the physics side. But if you're not a graphics freak then ARMA II, so I've heard, has AMAZING customization when it comes to making your own missions and scrips and what not.

you need to download overnight...i started downloading necrovision (which was like $4, fyi) at around 2am and its at 78% at 4:30am. you have to imagine that most people are gonna be on during the day anyhow.

thats totally lame though man...and thats steam for ya haha!
