"Network error - Windows has detected an IP address conflict - Another computer on this network has the same IP address as this computer. Contact your network administrator for help resolving this issue. More details are available on the Windows System event log."

Does anyone know how to solve this issue? It has been popping up the past few days, making everything (games, ventrillo, etc) lag horribly. I tried a few things that had no effect.

Side Notes: I only have one computer at my house and I do not have wireless internet connectivity. I have a Xbox360 that is connected to play on live, but it has not been used for about a week,

This sometimes happen to me when I start my laptop while the desktop is on.
But my dekstop is wired and laptop is on wireless though..

Have you tried resetting your modem/router or changing the slot which the network cables are in? (On the router/modem)
Don't know if it'll help, but just an idea..

yeah I tried that, to no effect. The popup hasn't shown up today so maybe I got lucky and it finally solved itself :P

I also tend to get this error, it tends to happen when my connection times out.

Easy fix, restart your router/modern.

Also, you can set a local static IP if you are you have administrative access on your computer. I'd recommend setting something towards the end, as those values are assigned last. For example 200 to 255. This guide should prove helpful.

Go into your routers homepage and set static IPs to your computers MAC address instead of it being dynamically set.
