CS:S Update Problem

Unfortunately the cmdrate updaterate changes didn't work

I think though I found a trend in the problem

In Net Graph 1 the IN: section will go from 46ish to 1000ish while the out: stays at a solid 76. This jumps in numbers occur in time with the rubberbanding,

Any ideas?

Might not be just css, your computer could be effecting it too. Im not saying to DO this but this is what i did a few weeks ago.

My css and tf2 and all my other games where incredibly laggy. I was never sure why. One day my hard drive blew up (not really) and i had to get another. When i got it fixed all my games ran smoothly. Morale of this story. Clean up your pc. Get rid of some junk you dont need. Defrag and other stuff.

All i got.

I'm having the same issue my latency is now at like 350 instead of 45. I was running just smoothly a few days ago.

TF2, DoD, and pretty much every other multiplayer game still runs like a dream.

I did some searching and found out if you have a quad core or dual core you need to do this.
1) Go to CSS Options
2) Go to Video
3) Go to Advance
4) Go to the Multi Core option and enable it.
5) No more lag.

Have had it enabled since day one.

How can I tell Matt?

I usually don't look at the browser when I'm in a server.

I defragged my computer and all of a sudden when i play CSS the game will literally crash my internet connection every since the defrag and the update. *sigh* have to restart my modem every time i start it up unless it is a scrim server or what not weird.

Just connect to a server, and when your playing, hit esc >> find servers >> internet tab >> and a the bottom it would say "stop refresh" if its searching for servers. Otherwise it will say "refresh all" if its not looking for anything.

So guys... I broke counter strike completely. I would get rubber-banding about 5-10 times per match so I completely reinstalled source and now I'm getting what OP is getting. Now css is completely unplayable. I join, and my ping is off the charts, I walk for like 2 secs, then I lag for like 3 secs over and over and over again all the time. When I exit counter strike, my internet takes a crap and it crashes for about a minute. I tried css with multi-core rendering on and off and without it the problem is a bit less severe, still completely unplayable.

Give a round of applause to the new holders of the Fail award! Valve! *clap* *clap*

Did you guys try connecting from the server listings?

So far it's worked for me every time.

The Game was fine before! I didnt need to know who shot the most rounds in a game...

But I temp-fixed it, I just waited in spec for several rounds and it seemed to stablize from there...

If you still have that prob just sit in spec for 4 or 5 rounds
