New website

I see you all put alot of work into, and although I dont liek change, I think over time I will see how great the new site really is.

Untill then, could you please at least think about swapping the main left and right columns? I have grown this entire time acustom to user login left, menubar right. Now it is backwards and it is irritating the buggers out of me. I understand that it is more standard for menus to be on the left however, the sudden change i just cant take it. The TF2 site allows you to pick color and style of their website, perhaps you can allow us to choose to have the sidebars normal or backwards. Perhaps a poll is needed All I know is that i would love the site if it wasnt harder to use by everyhting being 100% in a different place.
 
While I also think that the change is nice, the change of color in the background on the forums has messed up all of the sigs i have made for my house members. If it was changed back to dark gray, that would help me out a lot. Also, the old forum icons of new posts, popular, etc were very professional looking and i think that the new ones look like we have backtracked a little. Thanks for listening to my input and i hope that you guys consider the changes

Thanks for all the input guys. We worked our butts off. We basically remade the site from hand. About the signatures just change the background to either transparent or you may have to fix all the sigs =/ sorry about that one.
 
mines fine :) if anyone needs thire sig redone just ask and if i get board ill redo and post in artwork for you the sig will stay the same but the colors will match :P
 
On top of my original complaint I also agree that the old circle icons for marking new posts was prefered.

i just made like 15 sigs for my house
and now this website renders them usually
cuz the background was dark gray

but otherwise

unfortunately that would have happened no matter what we would have made the site look like. unless it was the same color as the old one, but new site is usually new color.
 
I realise after reading my post / comments that my intended words came across wrong. Let me try again.

There is about 1000 little aspects to this website. I think about 997 of them are awsome, and much improved. Good work.

However, I prefer the old layout on a few things.

1) I prefer the menu layout IE Home Forums News Roster (etc) to be on the right sidebar.

2) I prefer the user signin and usermail menu to be on the left (it looks like you have already changed this)

3) In my opinion, the star flag is a neat icon, but the circle icons that used to mark new posts looked less gamey and more professional.


Now, you can either solve these one at a time, (or none at all lol) or what I think you should do, is just literally swap the left and right sidebars with eachother (swap the original sidebars, before Dom edited the user login).

As far as the new post icons, it is not a big deal and I can live with either, its more personal preference, but I think point 1 & 2 reflect more than just my easily changed mood based opinion, its that youve gone and 100% completely swaped the left and right bars when making the switch to the new site and basically, you havnt been consistant with the standard you originally made. I hope that was clear,..


I specifically like the new color layout and header and footer, along with the new buttons. One question though, it was on both sites, why is it that right now I look at which forum I am in and it says general forums: general forums (twice) it says funny stuff in most of the forums liek that, is that a glitch?
 
At least GreenMonkey knows what he wants.
I think it looks good. Not my fav color but I will live.
 
I like every change, but I agree with Monkey on the circle icons being more professional looking.

I have to agree I loved the old cricles but the rest of the site is great,
