sniper ghost warrior black screen

did you buy it on steam?

if so - have you tried to

-> right click the game
-> go to proporties
-> on the local files tab go to "verify integrity of game cache"

->same
->same
->same and click on defragment cache files

defragmenting handles the internal game files wich may be in array after the initial download of all those important files needed to run the game. sometimes they are not proporly placed the first time by the installer

if you bought retail I'd go to the creators main page and look for the "known-issues/bugs/problems area"
 
I'm not sure whats being stated, so you have a black screen when you open up the game and no sound? Or is it you have sound, but a black screen. Do you have another video card you can put in your computer?
 
oh i have sound. sorry i should edit that. My video card is fine for the game. i dont have another 1 that would be good enough. I tried change the resolution that didnt work either.
 
Just to get it all straight. Launch the game, you get all the sound but the screen is black?
Have you waited say, 5 min for it to load. I know sometimes when I launch CoD2 it does this and I have to wait a min or two for it to finally pop up. (Not that it's a problem with my pc or anything)
If anything you could always try re-downloading it. I know a guy named Telepath that's in eGO that plays the game. Idk he if bought it through steam or not but he might be a good guy to ask this too.
 
Well how long do you wait till you just give up and close the game?
Have you tried re-downloading/installing it?
 
Stupid question but necessary: Does your computer MEET or EXCEED the game's hardware requirements?


If yes:

Do you have the most current graphics drivers?

Do you have the most current sound drivers?

Did you update DirectX to it's most current build?

Have you updated the game (if possible) to it's most current release?

If you have multiple monitors change the shortcut to Disable Desktop Composition (in Compatibility).



Try opening up notepad and open the video file in:

X64 (64-Bit Operating System)
C :\Program Files (x86)\City Interactive\Sniper Ghost Warrior\Game\out\Settings

X86 (32-Bit Operating System)
C :\Program Files\City Interactive\Sniper Ghost Warrior\Game\out\Settings

Change the resolution to a low setting like: 1024x768

I am looking for the video file mentioned above and i have not been able to find it. I have windows 7 and bought Sniper Ghost Warrior through steam. Any suggestions on where or how to change the resolution to a lower setting as mentioned above.

Thanks for any help.
