My internet explorer will start up for 3 seconds and then go away

no you don't. my son plays from firefox, and i know you can use chrome or opera as well. yeah, just stop using internet explorer or reinstall it.

open task manager and look for a process/es called dumprep.exe.. and end task on it/them.

dumprep.exe is the actual .exe file that closes IE., basically, if a dumprep file is active, IE wont open

You can not use chrome thats my default browser and how do i open task manager and fire fox just wont start up i click it and it gives me a loading cirle for a mouse for 5 min

when you looked for "dumprep.exe" you did look in Processes, correct?

BTW, starting task manager is ctrl, shift, and escape.

And make sure you hit view all processes to get it to work.

Lets see...

Do a virus/spyware scan
Defrag your computer
Uninstall/Reinstall IE

Go to your event viewer (search event viewer in your windows search or go to start>run>msconfig>tools tab>event viewer

Once your in event viewer, go to the Application and Services Log>Double Click Internet Explore>Is there any error messages?

If nothing is in that panel, Click Windows Logs on the left & Application below that. There will be a ton of messages, but try to find one thats associated with your IE8 crash.
