Problems with TF2 and CSS

Well for some reason when ever i go to play Css or Tf2 i click join game but i get into it and 5 sec's later my internet dies. I have Verify-ed it and also got all the updates for the router but it still does not work. My brother has the same problems but he runs it from the Modem. We also have the updates for the drivers. So i need some help. Funny thing is DoD:s works fine so its not the source engine.

Run thorough scans in Safe Mode.
Just to make sure.
Also, have you tried resetting the modem and/or router?

yep but its a no go i deleted the steam config folder and it worked somewhat but it still likes to dc alot

well hopefully with some steam updates it should fix because this all happened after the Css update but thanks for your help.

This is happening to me as well... really annoying. Also happened with the CS:S Update

When your Internet "disconnects", what does that mean?

Are you connected via cable modem, DSL, or fiber? Do the lights on the modem/router actually go out? When it's "out", do you lose web connectivity? Ventrilo? Skype? IM? Or just the ability to play Steam based games?

If you want, find me sometime in Ventrilo and we can try some things to test what's exactly broken.

Conneced to router via cable. Plugged in the modem and does the same thing so its not the router. They flicker but today i had 2 connection problems and vent only died once but came back in about 5 seconds. After the two connection problems i did not dc from the server but could not play for about 2mins then everything worked fine after the connection problems stopped at about 20.3 seconds. I do not lose the web it just takes longer to load.

Do you get any errors in your Event Viewer?

I only get the warning in the top of my screen and the timer other then that no errors.
