i wanna fix my ip number back to normal i got ban for CopperAle spaming on Ventrilo cause they was banning everyone in the room .. so i gave my ip to =(eG)=? Panzer1509 :chair: so he can talk to someone to fix it but now my ip saying 127.0.0.1 and i look it up it say

The word "authority" means that IANA keeps authoritative records,:cursing:
 
127.0.0.1 is a loop back address. Every computer with an Ethernet card has one. It's there basically to test if your IP protocol works. I'm not sure what you mean by back to normal, but the only way to change your IP address is to call up your ISP I believe.

Just so you know, it wasn't actually me spamming, but an impersonator. And MattM is right, being banned from Vent did not do anything to your ip, 127.0.0.1 is a loopback address on every networked computer in the world. To find your real ip try visiting http://www.whatismyip.com/ or other similar sites, Google is your friend on this one.

Remember also, changing your ip to get around a ban is a bad offense in itself, if you need to contest a Vent ban the proper place to do it is HERE.

You can also go to ip-adress.com (yes without the second d in address).

I don't understand how the ip bans work with people with dynamic Ip addresses (all of us unless you have the cash to dish out a static).

When you see your IP address, you might think of your internal address (Mine right now is 192.168.1.101, but my EXTERNAL IP is 173.58.103.200) My external address never changes, but I might change my settings on my router and I might get a new INTERNAL address of maybe 192.168.1.108. So when you get banned from a server or in vent, your EXTERNAL address gets banned, not your INTERNAL.


Don't take the caps the wrong way, just trying to make it stand out :D
 
EXTERNAL IP change to 127.0.0.1 and i found way to change my ext ip back to normal so it say my real ext ip .. now i need work on the ban thing thanks for the help
