Get ready; it's coming.

I know the offer was already made, but I'd be happy to look over it for style, tone, grammar, clarity, accuracy (Engi is my most played class, hundreds of hours), helping you tailor the work to a specific audience, you name it. Having a BA in English with rhetoric and writing emphasis is always helpful. :)

Engi is and has always been my passion. I'd love to be a part of this project in any way, even play-testing new ideas with current content -- or future patches to this content (nerfs/buffs) or the introduction of more new content to the engi -- so that said ideas may be included in the guide. I have always yearned to show the world that the engi isn't nearly as simple as people think; for every part common sense, you need a part of craftiness and a part of skill to be an effective engi.

S3rv0, I've responded via PM.

So do we have any more burning ideas? I'm getting into the thick of writing the thing now, and the time for you to tell me what you want in it is drawing quickly to a close.

So far, I've gotten the general idea that the community wants to hear a lot about playing an effective battle engie.

Other thoughts?

Effectively using the Sentry-jumping technique. I love air-wrenching people and then killing other people with rockets with my sentry thats across the map. I can also grab health and launch myself back if I time my jump right with where the rockets hit. I just need a ready supply of healthpacks so tactical-advantage areas are important. Also effectively ninjaneering teleports and examples of areas(like the top of the tower when your attacking on Gravelpit)
where you can flank the enemy with your team by using teleports.

Oh Dreadmaker, THIS is why I love you <3

Can't wait for the finished product, as I love battle engies :D

Well, this is a good question, really. I hadn't planned on making a fully fledged map guide, simply because I feel as though telling people where to put their buildings would be much less effective than teaching them the formula for picking the best spots. I had intended to put in a section at the end with 'thought provoking sentries', where it would just be pictures of sentries in unusual places to give the reader some ideas. However, if there is enough interest in a fully fledged map guide, I might consider it more seriously.

As for sentry jumping, I'll be including a section on it, possibly as apart of another, larger section on something else. My general feeling on it is that it's a technique that should be known, but used sparingly. As far as defensible positions go, places you can get to by sentry jumping tend to be pretty exposed.

So, rest assured that there will indeed be material on both of the things you asked for, although they won't necessarily be in the form you were thinking.
