building a gaming computer

I'll throw one up here really quick.
I didn't see it anywhere, but do you need the OS, too?

E/ Also, do you plan on overclocking?

Yes, he needs the OS. He plans on using his older computer, so he also needs a DVD drive and a new hard-drive as well.

Don't forget to get some Thermal Grease, without that. You're screwed.
Stock heat sinks that come with the processor already have it applied, or comes in a little packet. Yes, it's not as good as other paste, but it works fine.

i really got no idea what over clocking is

Okay, I'll take that as a no. Stock heat sink it is.
I'll post it once I get back on my computer. LANing at a friend's house, and he's using my computer.

i dont just wanna play it i wanna play it at like max and still get good fps

In the build that Chemist suggested, he put a dual channel ram kit.

Why not go tri-channel? X58 supports it.

Hm, I completely missed that. I thought that I chose a tri-channel kit. I did the build like extremely fast, so that was overlooked I guess. Either way he needs a hard-drive and disk drive, and a OS, so that's going to be a little over the cost.

He wants to max everything, I suggest he gets like 200 more dollars or so.
