Heyyy i'm kinda concerned, and i wanted to know the difference between the intel i5 650, and the intel i5 750. I Have the intel i5 650, and i feel like i got a junky CPU. Even though i might be wrong since i do not know the difference. Can anyone tell me what is the difference, and if it's still good that i have the intel i5 650! I Kno that intel CPU's last longer, and i'm glad that my pc will be living for awhile since it's only 1 month old! So please tell me what the deal is?

Thanks

The 650 is a dual core, the 750 is a quad. If you got the 750 then you would have 2 more cores. Obviously it's better, but if your currently happy performance wise with your 650 I don't know why you are worrying.

Just because the 750 is better, doesn't mean the 650 is bad. The 650 is a pretty beefy dual.

Last longer, how do you figure?

The temperatures run significantly higher than AMD's.

Heh, not like it really matters anyway. Most people won't see their CPU die on them, it usually gets replaced in 3-5 years.

True.

Unless you're pushing the voltage and clock speeds at ridiculous amounts, you really shouldn't worry.

By the time it's on its last hinges people will be asking, what's a Core i5?

The i5 650 is a dual core with hyperthreading, so it has
2 cores and 4 threads all running at 3.2GHz (Idk if this has turbo off the top of my head).
The i5 750 is a quad core that doesn't have hyperthreading, so it has
4 cores and 4 threads (if it had HT, then it'd have 8) all running at 2.66, but with turbo, up to 3.2GHz.

The i5 650 is by no means a bad performer, it's just not a good CPU pricing wise, seeing as it's so close to the i5 750, which will perform a lot better.
The 750 is the obvious choice.

i5 650= 32nm Dual core with hyperthreading, runs cooler, overclocks better

i5 750= 45nm Quadcore w/o hyperthreading

You make the 650 sound better.
It will in applications that only use 2 cores (and if it's clocked higher, of course),
but the 750 will just dominate it in pretty much everything clock for clock.
