now what version should i get wich is the best version i use mainly my comp 4 gaming and studying. And the biggest reasons 2 i want vista is because i want direct x 10 but whats the best version 4 me. Or what version did u have the best experience with. ?

Well you are about to hear alot of things from alot of people. According to all the research I did including the paper I ended up writing for school, and even the information on my website - the differences between the versions are differences in features, not differences in how good the core OS is.
I chose to get Ultimate because I wanted to familiarize myself with all the topics vista has to offer because I am basically responsible to know hwo to fix them if they break heh (not that I have used thenm all yet).
Basically - you really want to stay away from Basic. Vista basic is a downgrade from XP home - it has almost nothing (it even has less windows games like chess and stuff).
Once you get to Home Premium you have Aero and just about most everything else including media center edition stuff. Everything that related to entertainment is present i this version.
Business is the version that takes out the entertainment stuff and adds productivity tools.
Enterprise is similar to business and ultimate but if for large companies that buy licences one eyar at a time and 1000 coppies etc.
Ultimate - there is not any feature missing from ultimate and infact, windows updates has optional updates with small tidbit programs that are only availible to ultimate users (or first availible).

Also, if you are getting it for gamming - you might as well get the 64bit version since one day, games will take advantage of it. (or if you want more than 4 GB of memory someday)

alright ive heard that u could like get cheaper versions of vista i just cant remember what it was called. I saw something on youtube about it i just cant remember it but i might be wrong now....... What price range is the vista ultimate 64bit.

gotta check websites man, find a deal. As far as finding cheaper version of vista,... um never heard about it. You can get the upgrade disk if you have windows XP (or other versions but make sure you look on the MS website for the chart most versions are weirdly cross compatible)
The cool thing is that if you buy the upgrade version, instead of installing vista over XP you can use it to install vista from scratch.

............Alright ive found something dont know if its the right thing though its called vista ultimate product opgrading licens. There,s 2 called the same thing on the site though and they have the same info the only difference is the price. The first one costs 119.47$ the second one costs 167.65$

Um,... you might want to start off looking on newegg. You arent looking for a licence you are looking for the CD with key - it will be called windows vista ultimate 64-bit.
