Ok guys, I need help with my FPS. In DOD:S I only get 30 FPS max and it fluctuates from 20-30 FPS. I have a Nvidia Geforce FX series 5600 Graphic card (Yes I know it sucks). Maybe its my graphic card or is it the server? My ping is like 50-60 most of the time. Any help here?

the server wouldn't have anything to do with your fps (atleast not that i know of) if you want a higher fps lower the gfx settings

this may help too http://www.fpsbanana.com/scripting/2781
it takes a lot of things outa the game (decals, shell casings, blood spatter and stuff like that)

Yes - there are many tweaks you cna do such as turning off bullet holes and changing yoru sprite settings and things. I used to do alot of that back in CS 1.3 days on my geforce 2 for the extra boost, but mainly with a card that old it really depends on what settings you are using. Reflections and shadows are usually killers on FPS, and you definately dont want to be using an antialiasing. I suggest running at 10x7 not any higher and just tweak the game or tweak the advanced video settings to set textures lower or something.

with that card if you are getting 100 FPS your game looks like crap. You really have to make a comprimize between getting 100 FPS and having the game actually look nice to enjoy it.

I mean honestly - do you know why you need 100 FPS other than bragging rites? Chances are that you are using a Dell monitor running at 72 Hz refresh rate so your wasting those extra 28 frames anyhow (in a manor of speaking).

Im running my Geforce FX 5200 on Medium and Low settings and get an average 40, spiking up to 55 when im not moving, and dropping to about 30 in heavy fire
