Well, Dell had a sale, and my family needs a laptop, so we bought one.

Code:
Intel? Core? i3-350M 2.26Gh (4 Threads, 3M Cache)
4GB Shared Dual Channel DDR3 RAM
15.6" High Definition (720p) LED Display with TrueLife?
ATI Mobility Radeon? HD5470, 64-Bit, 1GB, DDR3
320GB 5400rpm Hard drive
Genuine Windows? 7 Home Premium, 64bit

I thought it was a nice purchase

you will find the 5400 rpm HDD was a mistake but perhaps you can install a faster one

also, is that one of their studio laptops?

Im familiar with the 5400 RPM hard drive thing, but we didnt want to spend too much.

its an inspiron 15R

Lol. I think it might actually be able to handle source games alright, which pleases me greatly

should handle source game just fine provided the gpu drivers are functional. Source is no longer a very resource-needy engine. You will have extended load times with that HDD but other than that should be smooth.

I like what Intel has done with the new Core i3's. Pretty fast, and are affordable.

Of course having a slower HD is an issue. Gaming isn't a huge thing on a laptop for me, I have my desktop for that.

I may upgrade it in the future, but for now alright for work/music/video

And yeah Shadows, I tried a few out with friends, rather pleased

Nice Laptop :) Tho beware of upheating ive had one looking the same, they get pretty hot pretty fast.

For Music/video/work a mac would've been better (my opinion.)
Because they're very fast buffering videos, they have good quality and are pretty easy to learn to use.

I gave used Mac many times. Had a iBook G4 at one point. But since my family will be using it (99% me though), it needs to be idiot-proof. My mother and Mac don't get along well
