ok i've had the same problem over the corse of my life.....

From CD's players head phones to PC speackers.



AM I THE ONLY ONE WITH THIS PROBLEM???

OK here is my current problem.

I have the Logitech z4 its a decent 2.1 PC speaker system.

my right speaker now only works is you Wiggle the jack that connect to the subwoofer...


WHY does this stuff happen to me and no one else??? i dont touch it i hook it up and NEVer touch it

am i cursed

Plz help me im so angry at technology right now i jsut want to run outside naked


What happend to my speacker cable..... what can possiably destory it if nothing touches it
 
All I can do it stab.

First let me say that Although I will onyl own logitech keyboards and mouses (yes mouses is correct when tlaking about computers) I dont buy anythign else from them because all they make good are input devices. I have owned a set of their 2.1 speakers and they were awfull and broke after a year - had power buttons issues where you press the power button and it didnt tun on you had to wiggle it and press it just right.

Also, that having been said, I have a set of sony headphones to go with my sony mini disk player and I am having the same problem. I sometimes have to twist the jack just right to get stereo otherwise i get audio. In my case it has to do with the contact. If you vidually inspect it it looks shiny and all, however, if you use somehting abrasive (not like tissue, but like jeans or something) to wipe the jack really well the problem goes away for a while.

Another time I see this problem is when you mess with the volume knob on some audio sets, depending on how the knob was implemented it often has seperate connections and or seperate potentiometers for left and right. Sometimes in just the right spot one side loses a connection so you have to fiddle wiht it a little bit.

If you have some kind of contact cleaner (most people dont) or even just washing the tip with water before pluggin it back in you may find that helps, and in the future i would stay away from logitech speakers. See if that helps.
 
Cleaning the connector with rubbing alcohol will clean any built up finger oil/grease. It will also evaporate, so it wont screw up your stuff. Another thing, the receiver plug on the sub might be coming loose on the inside. Some of those have a screw-on collar that holds it in place and that can sometimes get loose causing loss of connection. I don't know if you can take the sub apart, but if you can, you could check the wires/connections inside the sub. I don't know how mechanically inclined you are, I usually try disassembling something if it isn't working, but that is just me. It never hurts to clean electrical contacts with rubbing alcohol. Try out what Monkey says, and dont disassemble until you are ready to pitch the system. That way if you do screw it up, you will already be planning to get a new one anyway. Hope this helps...
