1a. $1200 before shipping
1b. 77494
1c. US
1d. N/A
1e. Some time during the holiday season. Maybe next weekend, maybe two weeks later
2a. Gaming
2b. N/A
3a. I would like to OC, but have not ever done before
3b. N/A
4a. I need everything, from top to bottom.
4b. I won't need more than 500GB, and if I do I can just upgrade later
4c. I'm SSD-curious, but multiple hard drives doesn't sound like fun for a first build. Also sounds expensive, maybe a later upgrade.
5a. As long as possible.
5b. Yes, I will definitely upgrade.
6a. Lancool PC K58W. Seems like a good one ;). If there's room for something better, don't let me stand in your way.
6b. All right, I'm probably gonna just buy cheap there anyways. Leave out of budget.
6c. I do need a monitor, but no real preference. Just not too high of a resolution, I want to play games with high settings but probably won't be able to upgrade often enough.

Will be buying sometime in the next month. Making decisions on where to buy (newegg or Fry's). Right now, this is more likely to be a rough guide to go off until the exact final budget gets pinned down.

Does "everything" include monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and an OS?

You can leave out the keyboard, mouse, and speakers. I can pick up some extras from a closet or something or just use what I have.

Please give a website. Else, the pricing is useless, which would make my recommendations useless.

Kinda crappy deals. But that's what you should aim for.

Not sure if your still doing this.

1a. What is your budget? As low as you can. Something that will be able to run Fallout New Vegas at a decent fps.
1b. What is your postal/zip code? 99212
1c. US or CAN? US
1d. If you?re neither, please give a website that I can use.
1e. When do you plan on purchasing? A bit after christmas (crappy time for deals but its when I can do it)
2a. What is the main purpose of this computer? Gaming, photoshop
2b. If work and gaming, specify which is more important. Gaming
3a. Do you plan on overclocking? No.
3b. If yes, what is your goal?
4a. What do you need in this build? Something that can run the newer games coming out decently, not amazingly, but ok.
4b. How much harddrive space do you need/want? 200gb
4c. If the budget allows, would you prefer more harddrive space or an SSD? Not sure what an SSD does. Maybe explain?
5a. How long do you plan on keeping this computer? As long as I can until I get a new one.
5b. If you?re planning to upgrade this computer down the road, let me know. I might upgrade the processor and GPU
6a. In a case, what is more important? Looks, cooling, or sound? I would like if you picked out a case.

I'll do this tomorrow. I got a lot of maintenance to do tonight on my computer. I want max 3D Mark 11 scores! :P
Btw, 1500x1000 isn't a resolution. Also, give an estimated budget you want to spend. I can go cheapo, or you can spend probably just a little more and get much better performance.
Feel free to add me on Steam.

How about 1400x1050? On the price I just want bare minimum, literally anything on newegg will be better than the computer I have right now.

That's good. I just want something bigger than 1024x768 :3

Sorry I haven't done it yet. Today was busier than I expected. I'll get on it right now.
I'll edit this post, so check back in about 10-30 minutes.

So it's not the case you picked out, but it still a phenomenal case.
Also, this rig kicks ass for the price. Prices are getting so low!! :D

hey Ph?, i wouldn't recomend the CX430 anymore.

They FINNALLY did a disection of one, and realistically, it only has the components to sully 300w

(of cource they do this the week after i buy mine >.<)

Hey there, I should have caught this thread before starting a separate post. Anyways, I've decided to hold out for the SB following your advice and I'm wondering if you can help me prepare a build for its arrival.

1a. What is your budget?
Roughly want to keep it around $1000
1b. What is your postal/zip code?
90006
1c. US or CAN?
US
1e. When do you plan on purchasing?
Post Jan 9 2011 for obvious reason. :P
2a. What is the main purpose of this computer?
Gaming and entertainment
2b. If work and gaming, specify which is more important.
Gaming
3a. Do you plan on overclocking?
Yes
3b. If yes, what is your goal?
Moderate amount without affecting stability. Not concerned about 3dmark scores and all that.
4a. What do you need in this build?
Everything minus the GPU(evga GTX 470), primary HD(Intel 40GB SSD), and monitor.
4b. How much harddrive space do you need/want?
2TB slave HDD for storage.
5a. How long do you plan on keeping this computer?
Roughly 3 years?
5b. If you?re planning to upgrade this computer down the road, let me know.
Most likely not.
6a. In a case, what is more important? Looks, cooling, or sound? I would like if you picked out a case.
Size, cooling, noise level, and cable management are important to me. Some of the cases I have been considering are: CM HAF X, Azza Hurricane, NZXT Phantom, and Silverstone RV-02.
