Backpacking

Anyone ever gone backpacking anywhere in the world?

I have wanted to for the past couple of years and it looks like I may be doing it this summer with a couple of friends - we have been discussing getting a flight to Bangkok and traveling various areas of Thailand.

Just in local areas and while on hunting trips. The biggest thing I forget to remember while hiking is to drink plenty of water. I always end up with a headache from dehydration.

Ah...backpacking...
Somehow the word bring back old memories...of school days, ack?!
The only backpacking I've ever do was when I went to school and back from it, when I was a child.

As for backpacking to the wilderness or anywhere interesting, beside school, are few, very few. Except this one time when I was in the Boy Scout (why do they called it Boy Scout when we got girls in it too?).
