Instant Respawn server

I have always wondered why the colmar server, currently undergoing map trials, has the instant respawn feature. Seeing as how none of the other eGO servers feature this, I find it odd. Frankly it doesn't make sense, as a group of people respawning together is more beneficial for the team as opposed to sporadic spawning.

As i have been told this is the only DoD:S server to have that feature and at times makes the round go longer.

Its neither beneficial nor hurting a team to have instant respawns. Think of it like this; If the allies capture a point with 3 people killing everyone defending, you might think "Oh i'll just bring six people and take that point back, but at the same time, the allies would have probably got reinforcements and the it would level out. The only thing instant respawns do is create more players on the battlefield, which some people like. Why the Colmar server is the only one, well you got me...

It is an alternate play style. It takes everything you like about DoD:S and puts you back in it faster. What is not to like? Anyhow, we have six other server that do not have that feature if you really do not like it. Do enjoy playing there.

It is fun to not have to wait to respawn. The downside is that it is nearly impossible to win a round since (a) the guy you just killed can get back to you with full nades and a full clip as fast as you can plant; and (b) he can immediately tell everyone where you are.

I agree fully, except for the downsides.
1. It's not Colmar, but if you were planting they'd take a while to get to middle.
2. They can tell everyone where you are, regardless of instant spawn or not.
3. I have both won and lost on numerous occasions WITH instant spawn.

The aspect of instant spawn is a great thing. I'm quite sure I speak for a few people when I say it's stressful when a team isn't interested in blocking the last flag, and you need to be there. Sometimes the reinforcement time resets, etc. This helps to prevent that, and gives you more playing time. With no Kill-Cam, it makes the game a lot more interesting as well. If your sniping from half way across the map, they shouldn't know where you are unless they see you shooting.

Well said. In all, its just a different style of play. It results in;
-More players on the map at a given time.
-Games are not prolonged. They can end suddenly or take forever. (Depends on your team and if there goal is to capture flags and not shoot anything that moves).
-Harder to capture/defend points. The focus of players is more likely centered to one area. Lets face it. If you see a pack of 4 or more people moving somewhere on the map, you follow them, and the person behind you follows them, and so on... (Unless your a MG, Sniper, etc..)

Again, just a different spin on the pace of play.
