Normally I just vote on these things and leave it be, but when I saw it was about Starcraft I had to put in my two cents. (This may be around a nickle)

To say you're not interested in SC2 because of SC1 is like saying you wouldnt by DoD:S because DoD had bad graphics, or wouldnt play CS:S because 1.6 wasnt awesome, or TF2 because TF was lacking in the graphics. Its a sequel, what do you want? A completely new game?

I understand some of you arent RTS players, neither am I. I played Warcraft 3 Reign of Chaos and The Frozen Throne because of the Custom games, and in the 8 years (Yes Ive literally played those games half my life) I never once got an icon for getting 25 wins in the normal melee matches, but in the week I've owned SC2 I have two icons for Zerg, and am close to getting one for Terran. The game will teach you how to be good at RTSs, and if you're afraid of having a record that looks terrible because you're new at RTS, you get 50 practice games before you even have to consider looking at a ranked match.

As for the only playing with certain regions, yes this was a horrible idea on Blizzards part, my SC friends make daily jokes about the person who thought of this idea, HOWEVER. Blizzard quickly realized their mistake and are going to fix it with in a month or two, this has been announced.

Starcraft 2 is one of the best games I've played in a long, long time. Even if you dont buy it right away, this game is going to be around for a very, very long time. SC 1 came out in the late 90s, SC2 comes out in 2010, at this pace, and with WoW and Diablo three, I expect SC3 to come out by 2020, you've got 10 years to say "I might as well buy this game and its expansions for 10 dollars."

I saw a post asking if SC2 was like WoW and War3, It isnt like those two games at all, WoW is a different Genre and War3 had heroes in it, Starcraft doesnt. Its a different game completely.
 
got it on release day. campaign mode was kind of short in my opinion. but multiplayer is where it's at. too bad I didnt get the beta cause it seems everyone else got a head start and is much better than I am.

Plus the ladder system means your going to be playing people of your level all day, instead of sifting through a list of games.

Also, a lot of people failed at brood war because of the UI limitations, 12 unit selections at one time, etc. Starcraft 2 has removed all of those with automine, unlimited unit selection/building selection.

That's one of the reasons the Koreans excelled was learning to work with the limited ui/dumbi AI and glitches and learned how to do it really fast.

Love RTS's, all of them. Loved before I'd ever even HEARD of FPS.

unfortunately Starcraft never really got my interest. I'm somewhat interesting in getting Starcraft II, but $60? like all the games i own i got for under $50. most under $20. $60 is out of my price range :P
 
It's an amazing game. People say it looks like a remake of the first like it's a bad thing.
 
only is a interesting game, best is the age of empires series for me
 
Oh man I miss Age of Empires, too bad Microsoft dissolved Ensemble after having them make that stupid Halo RTS. I'd be playing Starcraft 2 right now if my graphics card weren't crashing all the time, and I had the money to buy it of course.
