Spawn camping?

Actually spawn camping of any kind is not allowed on any eGO server. Exit camping on dust2 is allowed. This is what we were told in admin training and this is how I admin. You do not fire into spawn unless someone has fired from spawn at you.

i think this is another reason to get rid of almaden! :)

i hate the spawn killing, in sinjar and almaden is out of control, need a admin of Full-time.

Today, only "Ften" :) did well ( although the wrong punished for TK ?? ) but sorry but there are admins who do not either, because they should ignore it or do not care. were doing spawn killing, and makes excuses ...

The unfortunate thing for both Almaden and Sinjar is some fairly simple edits to the map would help a lot. Mostly just expand the spawn area available to the Marines to allow for a far broader range of spawn exits and/or well covered overwatch positions that can cover all the spawncamping spots.

yah, dust is so small and compact and arena like that spawn camping is allowed and it's absolutely normal. But if one team is having trouble ease off a little

Please, everyone, learn the terminology. I'm not dinging you or anything, but it is *extremely* confusing, especially to newcomers who read this, when you say "spawncamping is allowed" in dust. It is not.

To recap, and make this clear:

Spawn Camping- it requires someone to be INSIDE the enemy spawn and firing, or hugging a spawn wall and killing them inside the spawn without first being aggressed. Simply put, if you shoot someone in their spawn without them firing at you/teammates, you are spawn camping. If you are inside the enemy spawn, you are spawn camping.

Exit Camping- a subset of spawn camping, as it requires you to be OUTSIDE the spawn area and firing at the enemy within the first few seconds of them leaving spawn. Simply put, you must be outside and engaging the enemy as they leave spawn, but the bodies must fall outside of their spawn area.

Nading spawn (203/RPG/Nade) is a slightly different issue. You are not allowed to nade spawn in any form, but I'll say this now: if I'm running from a to c and have a 203, I'm going to shoot you if you try to take a potshot at me from the ins a exit. Any other people I kill on accident are collateral damage for you shooting at me from your spawn.

Now, on dust, you can exit camp all day long if that floats your boat. Spawn camping is never allowed; firing into spawn is allowed if they are firing at you; and these rules are off if one team is depleted, as it is a safe bet the other is as well and there are afk's hiding in spawn most of the time, so a nade there is needed. As to hugging spawn walls- I've never heard an official ruling, but I don't allow it when I admin because it leads to actual spawn camping. 90% of the time when an INS is hiding at the boxes/wall right when marines come out of spawn they toss nades inside, et.al.

So, being new here, I want to point out that if it is indeed illegal to spawn camp, why don't we have reflective damage set to ON for those who do it? I've been killed where I stand with no more than a thought to pull my trigger at a hidden enemy so often on THESE servers, that if I had a dollar for every time that it happened, i would be able to start my OWN server.

What does Ego do to ENFORCE this rule, really?

I'm not being sarcastic, i am simply voicing how disappointed I am, being so new here. One of the sole reasons I applied was to be assured a good fair fight.

Spawn camping in its most basic form, there as:

Is not allowed.

A variation of this is Exit Camping, where as:

is also not allowed.

The thing to do in each of these situations is to ask the player to move. In 8/10 situations they will comply. Remember that while it is bad, this is a team play game. If you are having problems exiting spawn, there are three exits in anyone spawn area - use them.

If a player is harrasing an area, more players than you will notice. Therefor, the player will be killed shortly. If it becomes so much of a problem that you can not kill them where they may be, or they will not move after being POLITELY asked -- have an admin on your steam friends list and hollar at them to help you

steam/edge/vent/anything ever :

...and by the time they've fired at you (sniper) you CANT fire back because you're DEAD.

My point being, from my previous post, is that there should be some automated way to automatically punish those who do it, Ego or non-ego people.

It this behavior keeps up, I may be inclined to pull my =(e)= off my call sign. I know I"m new, but it's just that serious a matter for me.

Technically speaking, in dust exit camping IS spawn camping which is why they are both tolerated. The exits are the spawn... so yeah.

It's not ok but tolerated to spawn/exit camp in the Dust 2 server
If someone is spawn camping just ask them to please stop but that's all you can do.
In the firefight server Warn Kick Ban for spawn/exit camping

Spawn camping in sinjar is almost impossible but if you say so ok....
Almaden is just stupid if your on marine team sure it's possible for marines to win I've done it plenty of times but it's so unbalanced because the stupid rpg which people just shot at the wall and hope for a kill. I think it would be a really cool map without the rpg same as dust but hey "that makes Ins so a fun game" <----- cleary not my words but yea I've talked to long I will end it with Almaden sucks!

Okay as a recap, basically:
1. Spawn Killing (Nading spawn or killing people inside of spawn) is not allowed unless a person in spawn is staying there shooting at you.
2. Spawn Camping (Killing people once they've just exited spawn) is allowed (only on dust2) because it's nearly impossible to avoid on dust2.
3. If you're not sure if it's allowed or not just don't do it.

That should explain everything right there Hyper.
