I recently got an Xbox 360. I got the arcade version b/c thats all i was able to afford. I have not yet been able to get a Hard Drive for it yet so i am using the 256MB memory. I have about 190-200MB left and i was wanting to know how much memory XBL takes to update once i connect to the internet. Someone told me it was around 18GB...that true?

Dying to play Rainbow Six: Vegas Online once i get all this stuff at my house worked out. lol

looking at my xbox memory, you should be able to update it but im using the new one so i dont know if anythings different

dont think its 18gb.. takes me like a minute to download it (i wish i could download 18gbs in a minute :P)

So i think your safe in that respect.

When you update your xbox, it takes kbs of space, not much of a problem. When I bought my core (before an arcade existed) I got a 64mb memory card. I played online without a problem. Enjoy rainbow six vegas =)

It depends on the amount of extra stuff you download and buy from XBox. If you just stick purely with gaming online without buying any extra content you will be fine.

Ya im not much of a demo down-loader anymore. So i will most likely use XBL for gaming.

And update should NEVER take 18GB, lol, thats just ridiculous. It should be fine to update, although you should get an HD ASAP

Ya i plan on it. My friend has a friend that is giving him a 20GB HD to give to me...only thing is it has FF11 on it and he said the discs are needed to erase the data off it.

I suggesting renting the games if you want rid of the data or borrowing the discs from a friend. Other than that you are AOK.

:) Just got back from Gamestop. Bought a 20GB HD and Splinter Cell Conviction along with LOTR: Conquest.
