Thor are said: "I hate Boston, and everything that comes out of it. Especially since they call themselves 'The City of Champions.' Yeesh, not even I am that self-absorbed."

My responce - First and most importantly of all - they are the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS, not the Boston Patriots.

Second, I live in NE and go to Boston often. Boston calls itself Bean Town - Boston Baked Beans. You say they call themselves the city of champions - so I searched yahoo. I typed in City of Champions and found that Brokton Mass calls itself city of champions - NOT Boston. Other cities that are called city of chapions include: Detroit, Pittsburgh, a few places in Ilinois, Durham NC, Joliet. Those were the top 20.

The onyl place I saw Boston mentioned as such was by a DVD of boston sports where it was used as part of the title. I suspect that you are biased against Boston for some reason and believe they refer to themselves as such?

I grew up hating boston except for the sports teams as they are still the local teams where I live and since growing up and having gone there alot I found that I actually like Boston. I would love ot hear specific reasons as to why you hate boston.

I saw a responce posted in the chatbox where thor said he likes the indians thus doesn tlike the sox, and associates mass to the patriots. OK, that makes sence, however, he also said that people only liek them because they are good.

I have neevr heard such hogwash in my life. Not only are the patriots the most hated team in football right now, we (the people who like them) have loved them for decades. 10 years ago when we had drew bledsoe as QB we had no chance of being where we are today, but stil we were fans. If somebody is out there liking us because we are winning then they stupid. I share your hate for those who only like teams that win (cough yankees fans) but the fact of the matter is that we (NE Pats) are disliked and have been fans our whole lives. I understand if you dislike us and our teams as nemesis's but you seem to have an extrordinary hate for the city of Boston for reasons I dont quite get.

I love the red sox and always have... Even when they never won back in 95 they were my favorite team. I dont know why. Everythig else in boston I dont really follow. I only hate the Pats because they cheat.

Now you may have looked up on google about 'The City of Champions,' it may not have been said. I've got a good friend that lives in Plymouth, Massachusetts that calls Boston, 'The City of Champions.' Which is the reason that it drives me nutty, have other cities called themselves that? Yes, however as I said in the Chatbox I am a Cleveland Indians Fan as well (Born inbetween Cleveland and Pittsburgh, chose steelers for football and Indians for baseball.) I am still a little sore about the Red Sox win against us this past October.

Do I hate Massachusetts? No, I just don't like the smugness that eminates from Boston. Boston is a beautiful city, it's just filled with people that annoy me.

Now why do I hate the New England Patriots? Two reasons, first I hate them because I've got many friends who gave up on the team they've been faithful to to join the Patriots bandwagon because they were sore losers. Do I like seeing the Steelers lose? No, but I'll stay loyal to them through the thick and thin. Second, is it not typical to envy and hate the team that's better than everyone else? It's completely typical. In fact, I also hate the Cowboys and Packers because of their respective Bandwagon pulls.

They aren't the Boston Patriots, no, they do however play out of Massachusetts so I simplify Foxborough/Boston to just Boston.

Edit: Plus as to what Blindsfell said. Bill Bellicheck was caught cheating. Listening to the other coaches discussion. This should have fired him, and nearly every other coach in the game would've been fired. However, Billy Boy just got a slap on the wrist and a fine. Drives me mad.

Now green, I don't hate the loyal fans at all. Hell, I'm glad that you're a Patriots Fan from the losses to the wins. But I know so many people that like them for the sole reason that they are currently winners. Are they the most hated team in the NFL? Maybe, because every loyal fan of other teams want to see them lose.

As a final note for this post I'd like to mention that I mean no hard feelings Monkey, I'm just an incredibly stubborn and bitter person.

Having read your last two posts -

I am sorry about your frined - he sounds like a typical masshole to me. Being that I am form NH I have had a hatred for Mass why entire life. As much as the red sox and yankees hate each other - so do Mass and NH.

Although, I find it verry founded as they drive liek stuck up snobs who own the roads and who laws do not apply. ANYWAYS back ontot he point - when I visit boston ther eis alot of pride - and frankly I will admit this (and find it commical) I told my friend one time that there is a difference between Boston and New York. See, in you wear a red sox jersy in NY everyone looks at you really mean as if you were scum, and you feel bad. Where as, in Boston if you wear a yankees jersy you get stabbed.

lol that still makes me laugh because its so true - but anyways, it was still a first for me to hear boston refered to as such. I understoo dit immediately as every team in boston is doing amazing (except for hockey) and that includes pro and college sports). No Doubt that Boston has pride, but so many other places have such pride but they add on the little twist of snobby ness to it as well - new york.

Now, the Steelers just have pride and a wide fan base that many people love, they are consistant and a good team i understand why people from places other than Pittsburgh love them so much. I just dont understand when people only like winning teams, or why the entire world hates us (NE / Boston teams). Granted people often hate the winner, but - i mean cmon.

When Brady wins a game and they interview him he is always liek "we played hard, they other team played hard and it was a great game, our team was wonderfull and i love this group of guys" - even if he singlehandedly won the game (which has happened in the past). Some people, lets not so randomly take Peyton Manning - he interviews liek this "peyton is the best qb ever. Peyton thinks that he played really well and is the best qb youve ever seen. Peyton wants you to buy the products he endorses" Give me a break.

As far as the "cheating" is concearned - dont evne get me started on that bs. Everyone in football watches the other coases signals and mouth movements - why do you think they always cover their mouth when they talk intot heir mic or hide everyhtign so well when they point to plays or whatnot. Both teams have guys in the upper boxes watch tv screens calling plays and with binoculars doing the same exact ting. The problem was that the pats guy was taping it. thats the only difference. Not to mention that the tape was never brought back to the locker and they were caught the first time it happened - so the games they have won and everything else were not related to that tape whatsoever.

Even on TV at first (and the web) everybody was like, everyone does it but the pats tried to tape it, thats what was wrong. Bill doesnt get any special treatment from the football commishioner - he has to reason to get special treatment, you just believe somehtign happened which didnt because you dont liek them. Trust me, if it was peyton manning i would be in the same palce as you but the fact is the impartial comitte decided what to do, and it was the right thing to do.

Regarding the cheating matter, I'm not completely sure about it. I watched a quick overview about it on ESPN a while back and I've never gotten around to actually look into it.

Now for why I'm a Steelers fan, you might consider me to be a hypocrit in the matter. I myself kind of agree but I have my reasons which I will explain in 3...2...1... NOW!

I live in Akron Ohio, which is about 1 hour from Cleveland and 2 hours from Pittsburgh. So why am I not a Browns fan? By the time I was old enough to watch and understand football, was during 1996 right after the old Browns were sold to Baltimore. Being that Pittsburgh is closer to me than Cincinnati I chose the Steelers over the Bengals. Now I love the Steelers because I'm a loyal fan, but I love the Browns because they're my home team. Be that they are rivals, yes, but it makes it so I'm never disappointed when the two teams match up.

I will admit, that Boston deserves this winning streak. They've been out of sports news for decades. I just wish they didn't win against my teams. =_=

I hate bellichek and i hate the patriots. As a Bears fan, killing them in 85 to then have them win 3 since kills me. But i hope the go undefeated because I hate those annoying Miami old timers with their stupid champange toasts and nonsense. Go pats.

Lol The patriots are good no doubt but not great as past teams. They wouldn't be able to beat the 89 Niners with Walsh coaching lol Anyway congratz on them having a perfect season. I like under dogs usually except when my team is the fave haha

Glad to see Thor lighten up a bit. - yeah, the pats are liek the all time underdog (yes we are undefeated but i'm saying that our team had been known as the underdog for lgoner than any other tema i think - but then again, in like 2 years i think miama will have beaten that record)

As I've cooled down from the game. Yes I've lightened up.

But I still hate "Massholes", The Red Sox, and The Patriots.

I'm sorry dude, but I have loved the red sox sinc the day I was born - gre up watching them make th eplayoffs every year and then choke, always losing, always getting your hopes up, but still I loved them. The truely is nothing liek a red sox fan, and like the steelers, they are the most popular team in the sport arround the country - they have the highest number of fans at away games - and no matter weather it rains or snows, we love em.

They happen to win - even better.

I love the pats, always have - I think tom brady is the best quarterback there is and he always give credit the other other tem and his own. I like and enjoy the plays called and how we love to go for it on forth down if its close.

And I absolutely hate massholes, A-Rod, and Peyton and i hope they all do some x-rated things i can say here together and join a suicide cult.

I wouldn't be half surprised if every city in America called itself "City of Champions". In fact the USA is so far up itself, it would surprise me very little. I blame the French for helping you win the war of independence.
