New Steam Beta

If you go into your settings on Steam, you will find there is a new beta to participate in. I turned this beta on and restarted steam, only problem is, Steam will now not open for me! D: I don't know what happened and I need a way to reverse this beta so steam will at least work for me again! Someone please help.

where is that located?

delete the .blob files from the steam directory. after you do that when you restart steam it will do an update and download the current release ones.

I deleted the .blob files and when I went to open Steam it said "Updating" but after it finished, nothing again

you could try reinstalling.

If you have any games, back them up.

Then uninstall Steam, then reinstall it.
Place the backed up files back where they belong, then verify the cache of them to make sure they're not corrupt or anything.

is backing up the files just as simple as dragging them out of Steamapps and then putting them back later?

Yep. Just make sure you put them back in the right file.

steam leaves the steamapps folder behind and some of it's settings so just unistall steam and delete everything but the steamapps folder than reinstall steam.

I pulled out the steam app folder, uninstalled Steam, reinstalled it, and all went well....funny thing is right when I fixed it, the internet in my whole house stopped working, had to reboot router and moden. Thank you all!!!

sorry if someone already mentioned this as i have not read all the replies

1. Backup your game files

2. reinstall steam

3. put the game files back to the original folder

your good to go now
