No one likes Semi-Autos? :(

I was chatting in the HC Conquest Server yesterday, and I found that nearly no one likes to use the semi-automatic sniper rifles? Why is this? Personally, I like them seeing as they have the versatility to shoot at close ranges far more efficiently than the bolt action counter-parts. I also enjoy them because, even though they do not often kill with the first shot, it's easy to follow up with a second shot due to the fact that you don't have to come out of the scope and then scope back in for the second shot. What do you guys think?

For me, it just gives me away, even in HC. It's extremely easy to see someone who's going pew pew pew for just one kill. I'd rather take my chances with the m95 in normal than a semi in hc

However, I am a fan of the SVU. Bush wookie gun, yes, but not if you don't use it as such.

Red-Dot + Type 88 = Rambo.
No one sees it coming, and firing from the hip is amazingly accurate.

heheh... I am extremely guilty of this one just passed 600 kills the other day

But hey, it works amazingly well since coupled w. the ghillie suit it makes for great support and even close range combat for rush maps so you're not one of the fail wookies that causes your team to lose but you can be on the front lines capping and destroying points

Yeah, I prefer the SVU Short. It's quiet, and normally, doesn't give yourself away. Note** i have found that magnum ammo doesn't really help the SVU, so you're best off with spotting scope with which will automatically spot enemies -- maybe you don't see them, but your scope sure does

I personally don't like using a sniper gun that can't kill in one shot. If I wanted to shoot someone multiple times, I would use an LMG or Assault Rifle.

It does actually help, with magnum ammo, every headshot with the svu is a one hit kill in Hardcore. W/o...not so much.

Same for me. Plus with the semi-auto snipers you're better suited as an aggressive sniper, which for me is the only way to play recon

The SVU is my sniper rifle of choice as of late. It's versatile and as stated earlier is well suited for an aggressive recon play style which is how I like to use the class. When your an aggressive sniper the fact that it's silenced is great s it is less likely to give away your position. Also, since I frequent the HC servers I still usually get a kill with one, sometimes two, shot(s). I'll use the VSS and Type 88 with red dots as well.

I pop on a acog scope onto it, and try and blend in, and wait. I only shoot if it's a headshot.

I generally prefer using semi autos, just because it fits my playstyle more.
