Team Fortress 2 on super ultra amazingly high quality........not

Hi guys! Some of you might know that I'm playing this glorious, awesome game from a regular laptop (Onboard graphics card, 2.0 ghz dual core). I've been playing the game at low settings the whole time since last year, no problem. But ever since I moved into this new apartment, it's gotten worse. Here's my current internet speed



Amazing, isn't it? My computer can barely run it + internet speed made it a lot worse :-(. Thus, I decided to take drastic measures and play with the configs. Here's some screenshot

That's how I see Team Fortress nowadays And sadly, even with the low quality image, I still cant run it past 20 FPS.

ummm you dont have any screen shots....either way, with those stats I can see why. Try Road Runner if its available in your area, that is what I am using and have no problem running it.

Wow, I might have to use your settings too, it isnt too bad on my pc but i would rather it be smooth.

If you want a better FPS, but don't want it to look amazingly good like mine, use this config. There are steps in there also That config is the best FPS config out there


For those of you who want to re-live the time of Playstation 1, NES, or Quake 3 in TF2 , then use this config instead

And also, if you want to run TF2 in Ultra High Quality settings (no sarcasm this time), you can also use the first link. It's got the config to up your TF2 settings

A piece of me really wants to install the 1998 version. I currently run TF2 with ridiculously high FPS with basically full graphics and HDR (oohhh, pretty), so framerate isn't a problem for me. However... like I said, that really does bring it back to the 'quake 2' feel. Love it.

Are you running TF2 on DirectX8 ?
It's remind me of Quake 2 graphics using 3D FX video card technologies

and yes, I'm running it at DX8. Turns out that it's not my laptop that's causing the prob, it's the internet

The graphics doesn't matter when you slide all over the place, dissappear and appear randomly and then headshot people with your axe thanks to god Lag.
