Black Ops not Steam Only, will use Punkbuster

Was that some way to say, "Of course it won't!"? The last two CoD games that used Punkbuster had free DLC.

Treyarch stating that they'll release mod tools made me think that there would be no paid maps on the PC.

Wow, Black Ops is steam exclusive with VAC, just confirmed by COD Developers

Hey, gungame! I remember that, back when I actually played CS.

Guess that contradicts this thread...need a rename!

For some reason they disabled renaming of threads in this forum.

Why are everyone getting their knickers in a twist about renting servers in Call of Duty Black Ops but when Bad Company 2 does it no one I know cried foul and wet their pants.

Sheesh.
I'm still gonna buy it.
Because it's Call of Duty, not Bad Company 2. They said that they would have dedicated servers, and said that the PC Community would be happy with their decisions, but they screwed us over again and didn't make the public server files available.

^Exactly this. Their making things more difficult than it needs to be. Banning players on VAC isnt like punkbuster. With PB we were able to send them hacker demo's take remove hackers from all PB enabled servers. Also, PB bans on sight.

VAC is badly delayed, and mass-bans at certain times. And they wont let us send in demo's.

Not making server files public means that if eGO has servers, they can't guarantee uptime and the server could go off at any time without our knowledge.

Its overall not good for PC gamers.

The game looks fun, the game has dedicated servers and it should have modding tools. BC2 doesn't have public server files either, unless you.. ahem.. yarrharr.. them.
What more do you want?
I'm still going to buy this game because I know that if Treyarch got to make all the decisions it wanted this would be Call of Duty 4 style and it would have Punkbuster and public server-files for every Bob, Age 10 to download and host on his Pentium II.
But.. Activision - and money.
Well, they can have my money for one last time.
