As much as I would like to spend $1000 on upgrades, I honestly don't want to. I would like to hear your side for a Intel build Bane as I have started to like the i3/i5 series the more and more I look at it and read over. I'm not in dire need of a gfx card as they seem to come out with new ones every day. I'm just looking for people's input on what they would do for a simple upgrade to a quad core or nice dual core with some ddr3 ram and a solid mobo & psu, nothing to fancy but enough to get the job done for Black Ops, CoD4 & CSS.
Edit: For reference here is my current build.
AMD Athlon x2 5000 (2.6ghz)
2GB of DDR2 800 ram
EVGA 9800GT 512mb
ASRock 790GX Mobo
Rosewill 550W PSU- 2 12v rails @ 18A each
Well buddy if your going to redo with intel/nvidia you will have! to get around 1000 for a build intel/nvidia is just expensive. The build pho built you is fine you will probly be able to run crysis on high? not ultra (dont quote me on that)
if i had that much for a rebuild i would go with an i5 and SLI 9800 (SLI is HOTTT!!!! make sure you have some good air cooling)
RAM is fine and in time you could possibly upgrade depending on how much the MOBO support (and if your running 64 bit)
Possible MOBO
