2. As backed up as our legal system is no one is going to bother dealing out punishment for 1 prank phone call
3. Prank phone calls are only illegal if you continuously call the individual or make threats regarding their safety and welfare.

Dude, dont worry. You could easily say that your friend told you about a cool game called battle toads and you asked if they had it.

Now if you called constantly asking, then you might have some trouble, relax nothing is going to happen
