Need help!!! PLEASE

hey guys i just bought a headset with pink/green inputs. I plugged it into my computer running vista and vista thinks that they are speakers so as of now my headset is not working. Any way to fix this problem please?:chair::facewall::cursing::confused1::crying:
 
did you plug them into the right spot? pink is mic, green is headphones.. usually they will match the opening of the port.
 
alright well first of all if you have a tech issue you cant make a thread in the eGO tech help forums but i'd be glad to help.

i need specifics. right now its hard to tell since all i know is that your hooking it up right.

did you hook it up in the same ports (front panel or back panel), did you install any new drivers, what did you use before and what did vista say they were (speakers or headset). anything else you could think of besides these factors can help as well.

back panel pink/green, I have all the latest drivers, I used a logitech usb headset and it recognized it as a headset. That headset broke so i bought a new logitech clearchat studio headset and my computer wont recognize it under my listed devices for playback or recording. It says that i have speakers plugged in though and when i went under the properties for that i did a speaker test thing and my headset made a tone noise, that's why I think it is recognizing my headset as speakers.
 
alright well this eliminates the headset not working. when you right click the speaker at the bottom right, click playback devices. what do you have for your default playback/recording device. make sure that it is playing sound by looking at the bar next to the device and it will show a volume meter. play around with that to see if that works. this is what mine looks like, mind you i have windows 7 and an audio card so it will vary a little bit. I also use a headset as well so just because it says speakers doesnt mean much. just as long as their is audio coming from them.

Thats what ive been doing and I do get sound in my headset after a little while but its trying to play more then one speaker so it takes a long time before i get the sound to my headphone when i test it. Like i cant hear things on youtube. but say i start to play bfbc2 i hear the gun shots n stuff just not what the npc's say because thats supposed to go through another speaker, so im really only hearing half the game. IS there a way to tell it thats its a headset or something?
 
Thats exactly what ive been trying to say! so how do i fix this? Or in other words manually tell it that it is a headset.
 
maybe do you have two sounds apps install if they have just remove the one not use
 
did you try this?

Go to Control Pannel
click on Hardware and Sound
click on Sound
then you devices should come up ; speakers, Digital Audio, and headphones
plug your headphones in
then select headphones
at the bottom it will say set as default
select that!!
then when you disconnect your headphones it automatically switches to the speakers and when you plug them back in it automatically will switch to headphones!!

I hope that helps you.

also try to update your computer if they have some update for the sounds apps

did you try to update your board? if not update that
or you need to patch your audio
