Basic tower build:1500$

if you can find a 470 for ~$200, then BUY IT.

That would be an insane deal.

In summary:

2X470s>2X460s>1X470>1X460

One thing about the 470 (now that you mentioned it) is the external exhaust. Nice feature when you start SLI'ing. Kinda sucks to have the hot air from one blowing onto the other...if you can get the 470 for a comparable price, do it!

Hope we've all added enough to this discussion to help you make a decision! Any more questions, feel free to ask.

If you have a decent case, internal exhaust shouldn't be an issue. Now if you have something like a 900 with crappy airflow, then you might want to look into external exhaust cards.

oh, and BTW eVGA makes a 460 with an external exhaust cooler.

Ahh, but its 260$, and for 270$, i can get an evga 12## mb one with EE, anyway if its like a few bucks more, il get it, if not, 460 1gb ftw :D

Why would you get the FTW? $50 for a 1$ chunk of aluminum on the VRMs, and a BIOS mod?

They aren't even binned, so the FTW will overclock just as well as any 460 would.

ummm, Im saying that the 460 is Win, FTW means For The Win Last time i check ;)

Its not a model

Ohh, well, XD

Going with the evga gtx 460 superclocked 1gb one for 250$ Canadian, plus a 20$ Mir, not too shabby ;)
