So far, I've been playing this game since I got it at the midnight release party. It's currently 5:26am and I still have a can of Monster left so I have another 3 - 5 hours left in me.

This is by far, the best game I've played in a very, very long time. Since MW2 to be exact. This game is flawless. An absolute, masterpiece.

Thoughts?

MW2 hasn't even been out a year yet. Less than a year is a very, very long time?

Just teasing, I'm glad you are enjoying it. I had at least 2-3 people on my friends list playing it last night.

That's all I got.

I'd hate to say it, but so far, this beats MW2

Halo: Reach will win game of the year. Been playing it for a few months now, and that is my final opinion on the title.

The LE Xbox is really awesome. I picked one up last night.

The game itself is really great, one of the best I've played. Halo 3 was cool, but this is just an incredible game. I'm not even an FPS fanboi either. I hated MW2, was never a Halo nut, the only games I really played a lot were CoD4 and CS:S.

The entire new loadout system is great, and I'm a huge fan of metagame, so the new armor upgrades, challenges, and stuff is awesome.

The campaign is pretty epic so far as well.

Why would ANOTHER halo game win game of the year when there has been much more impressive titles. Hell, Amnesia an indie title is more deserving of game of the year than reach.

Also saying that it is better than mw2 doesn't say much.

What's with all the hate on Halo?

I know it's a total bro-gamer title, but I really liked the beta, and from what I've heard it's the best one yet.

Oh, I'm fine with it being good and I'll admit that. But it doesn't deserve game of the year. It's like twilight winning movie awards over and over.

Have you played it? I still think SC2 is a superior game, but an RTS won't win GOTY over a game like Halo. There are many superior games this year, but this game is really fun, and one of the best games I've played that has a huge appeal.

It isn't like the game is bad, its better than Halo 3, CoD4, MW2, and BC2 in my opinion. Then again, I'm not a fan of games that try to be realistic.

I don't know about game of the year, personally I'd give that to Red Dead Redemption or to my underdog vote Monster Hunter Tri.

But my teasing was more implying that a lot of people just jump from one big shooter to the next, i.e. when Black Ops comes out everyone will forget about Reach.

Really that's irrelevant and again I say to those of you who are having fun with Halo Reach, I'm glad for you. Gaming is all about playing stuff you like, so enjoy!

Game of the year isn't a popularity contest. It's about new innovations in gaming and making it really impressive. If it wins, it would just be winning for the same game play they have been doing but with new features.

I didn't even mention starcraft 2, it's a huge improvement on the original but it's not like its crazy and innovative.

Are you kidding? GOTY is a popularity contest in most cases. Many websites do a vote for GOTY (or at least fan favorite). I'd be interested to see which magazines/websites pick which games as GOTY, because most of the time it is just a wildly popular game, that isn't even that great.

In the case of innovation, there was nothing this year that stood out from the pack to deliver a unique game experience in my opinion. Bad Company 2 was alright, but was/is really buggy.

Halo: Reach isn't the same old game, the concept of point and shoot is still there, but I finally think they have perfected (nearly) the balance of all the guns, along with adding the really cool (and useful) armor perks.

I was using Starcraft 2 as a comparison because it is an incredible game, with a huge fanbase, and addictive and (mostly) balanced gameplay. This all being said, Mass Effect 2 is still my favorite game this year, personally.

Well, it shouldn't be a popularity contest, and there are a bunch that don't do voting systems and pick their games. That's one of the reasons I said the thing about twilight winning movie awards every year for their sequels, because a ton of fan girls go and vote for them.

Also, in the case of innovation see Amnesia. I mentioned it before, indie game but awesome and innovative game play and probably one of the scariest games I've played.
