well im currently looking for a new headset. as all of you know there are tons of headsets from different brands and different price categories out there.

so im here and hoping for your guys opinions. i got a plantronic gamecom 367 right now. its a really good headset with good sound and a good mic (from what i can tell). but its a lil old and i have the feeling its about to break soon (depending on the volume the left headphone seems to be lower than the right one).

now i need you guys to help me find a new one. ive been looking around a lil on amazon.de and remembered someone said turtle beach is a good choice so i ended up with the turtle beach x11. my question is is it any good? does anyone have experience? i read a few posts on some forums and as you can imagine there are lovers and haters so its not a real help. one of those haters mentioned trittons headsets. as far as i saw those are not so easy to get over here (in germany) and not so cheap.

i plan on spending around 50? which is like 65-70$. right now my i tend to buy the turtle beach one but im up for any opinion from you guys.

thanks in advance :)

I personally use a Turtle Beach EarForce P21. I use it for both PC and my PS3. They have AMAZING sound and the mic works really well (from what i can tell by people's echo in vent). Crystal Clear voice chat and mine has adjustable volumes for game, chat, and bass all seperate so you can turn up and down what you want to. Definitely go for Turtle Beaches, a very good investment.

P.S. My headset is discontinued by Turtle Beach. But the PX21's are an upgraded version of mine and can be used for PS3, 360, and PC, all on 1 headset.

I was in the same position you are in.
I bought a $25 generic brand headset, and I'm paying the price.
Crappy audio, sounds distant.
Pinches my head like no other.
There's this annoying volume control (Which doesn't even work, BTW) that is only like 1 foot off the headset, so it swings and hits my arm every time I move.

You get what you pay for, don't skimp out.

Also, this should go in the tech section.

headsets are for losers, i use that microphone that came with rockband when you bought the super version of it.

Rofl. I bought a $15 Turtle Beach headset almost two years ago and it's still kicking ass. Sure it's not a fantastic piece, but it gets the job done better than I could've imagined $15 dollars would. Only pinches when I'm getting into the 5+ hours.

i have some off brand (although pretty decent) head phones i got at radio shack...lol they cost 30 bucks but i got mine on black Friday for like 10 bucks so yeah XD other than that iv just used what ever readily available headphone/ mic i can find for like 20 bucks

RaZer CarCarious is supposed to be REALLY comfortable, and if your into going up 20$, get the G35 headset for 95$

@ trauma: yea ive seen the Turtle Beach headsets work on consoles too. i dont have one but its def. a + in case i decide to get a console. sadly only a few online stores seem to sell Turtle Beach headsets so i dont have many options. the x11 was the only one in my price class and its supposed to be the upgrade from the x1.

@ pet rock: i will have an eye on that but since im in germany the shipping costs might be a lil too expensive (if they even ship to germany)

@ watersnake: i used to buy cheap headsets and i had the same problem you had. the sound was crappy and not enjoyable. ive been listening a lot to music on the headphones so i decided to get more expensive ones. i also use the sound when i play ingame to hear footsteps, etc. so im gonna spend a few more $ to have good sound.
btw: there is the a post in the tech section. but i didnt get a single answer in 2 days so i decided to post it here cause i knew you guys would answer. and in a few hours i got several answers already :P

@ storm: i thought about getting a sound system a few times. my problem is that i dont have the room to place it good and the walls are pretty thin so as soon as you turn it up a lil too high you can hear the sound through the walls and ill just have my parents yell at me lol

@ quickskope: 95$ is a lot of money. well in ? it wouldnt be that much but sadly the prices here are different. i just checked how much the g35 costs and its 95? (120-125$). thats a lil too much for me. the maximum i was gonna spend is 60 maybe 65?. i dont have proof but from the few things ive seen (ipod, wii, new games) they replace $ with ? over here.

@ all: thanks for your posts guys. feel free to keep posting your suggestions :)

Does Turtle Beach ship to Germany? If you save up a little bit more you could get a good headset from them if they ship if not then I guess Turtle Beach is out of the option.

i dont know if they ship to germany but i found a few online stores who sell the x11. thats how i got to it.

EDIT: just checked it. TB doesnt ship to germany. so ill have to go with one of the online stores and prolly the x11 then since there are like only 2 other headsets from them but those are too expensive

I bought a Fatal1ty gaming headset about a year ago. Still rockin it and sound quality is great, mic quality is great (I think, I never really hear myself talk though), and it was only 45$

Well worth the money.

I'm probably going to end up purchasing a more expensive one (100-150$) within the next couple months though, but this one has served me well for over a year and is excellent quality. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a new headset.

baracuda and the steelseries are a lil too expensive.
the carcharias seems to be good so ill have to compare it to the TB x11.

thanks to all of you and feel free to post more suggestions ;)

Aight, you can get the RaZer Carcarious for abut 70$ pricematched, GREAT headset supposedly.

I was not too sure about it at the beginning, but I finally decided to go with the Carcharias, and like Quick said, it's SOOOOOOO comfy and you get such a good crystal clear sound and an excellent microphone that goes with it, you'll need to consider it.
