Following the success of Square Enix's first MMORPG, Final Fantasy 11, SE has created a whole new realm in the MMO universe in Final Fantasy 14. Early access via the Collectors Edition starts on the 22nd, while regular retail begins the 30th.

Anyone in the eGO community plan on playing it or trying it? It's a rather easy decision if you were a long time player of FFXI like I am (5 years), but even if your not, perhaps you can give it a look. There is a subscription fee, but if your getting tired of your current pay to play MMOs (WoW, unsung rival to FFXI) or looking to put the time into one, FFXIV looks to be like a promising next-gen MMO.

I'm pretty serious biz about my FFXI and FFXIV, so if your planning on playing or at all interested in the game, let me know.

I played the Beta and I had a good time. Really beautiful and you really do need a good computer for this. Was pretty fun, but you know kinda boring at first lol. Sad the beta is over though D:
 
Anyone buy the Collectors Edition to play a week early? Would be nice to play with some other people
 
My benchmark ran a 514 on my less than outstanding laptop, so I'm opting for the PS3 version in March.
 
Yeah after a week I stopped logging in for Beta, was boring, but mainly because they wipe your data at the end. I'll be on Cornelia server if anyone plans on playing. Also, I wouldn't worry about the benchmark score, I scored low but my laptop ran the Beta quite fine after adjusting settings, but it is only a year old.
 
Im on Limbum or whatever but it just feels like your paying to play beta :-/.. Chat system has bugs so its like your playing single player unless you get a linkshell.. I will probably cancel my subscription once my free 30 days are up and wait for the ps3 release when the game will be more fine tuned. The only thing worth doing right now is crafting
 
I loved FFXI, Only got to play it for a few months but it was amazing, and if my computer can run FFXIV, then Ill definetly be getting it.
 
Played the FFXIV beta, wasn't too impressed, but it was fun.

I was also playing the beta looking for references to other FF games. Guess it's just the music and the server names...

This game is... just play and find out. (played ffxi and beta too btw. Beta... it was exactly that.)

I had to cancel my subscription already because of the way the game is currently. The whole reason i got this game was because i LOVED FFXI and thought some of the traits to that game would carry over but it doesn't appear that way.... partying was the whole reason i loved it but now its a solo fest... along with no AH or sort item features xD... i mean a 3rd party website has to do the AH for people who want to find certain items without randomly checking everyones bazaar. So for me its like i was paying monthly to help fund their beta test xD. I'll come back once the PS3 version is released!
 
On Rabanastre name is Arya Snowborne I believe. Lancer class and fishing as well.
 
Wish I could get it, only FF games I play are on my NDS.

Love the Final Fantasy Music btw.
 
I'm on Palmeria, or whatever server that starts with a P. It's a beautiful game. Deff makes my computer work for it's money. Hardly scratched the surface as to game play, but I'm looking forward to getting some solid time in.
 
I would play if I had money to spend on, also that Tarutaru character in the trailer has some awesome magic spells..
 
I just got the game. But it seems all of us are in different worlds, lol. I'm really loving FFXIV right now and I hope the PS3 servers are the same as the PC ones. I'd love to play with my living room TV and sound.
 
Ugh, hope my computer specs can pass it. I want this game pretty bad. I was an avid fan of FFXI, and still remain a loyal fan to the FF series. I WANTZ! D:
